Non-shrink Cementitious Grout SHRINKKOMP.
It is a ready to use cementitious, free flowing, High Compressive
Strength, Self-levelling, Chloride Free, non-metallic and
expansive Grout for filling up gaps up to 100mm. It is specifically
designed for Multiple application use to withstand critical load
bearing and load transferring in concrete Foundation and
Structures. Its characteristics throughout the plastic and
Hardened state controls the vertical dimension of Grout. Due to
its expansion properties it facilitates effective load bearing area
when placed properly. It is designed for Transfer of Large Static
Compressive Loads, Dynamic and Impact Loads on concrete
foundations.

ADVANTAGES OF SHRINKKOMP
1) Based on Expansive Cement technology developed In-house
by Calderys India Refractories Ltd.
2) Non shrinking and free Flowing grout, composed of expansive
hydraulic setting binder, graded aggregates and chemical
additives. They expand by a fraction of a percent in seven days.
This expansion when restrained offsets the shrinkage, which
normal cement based grouts exhibit.

RECOMMENDATION FOR PLACEMENT OF SHRINKKOMP GROUT

PREPARE : Within the pocket chip away any laitance and unsound concrete & make entire
surface rough but reasonably level.
CLEAN : Clean pocket, bolts and base plate from oil, grease and any other foreign coating.
PROVIDE : Air relief holes. Grout should be poured from one side only. Saturate foundation with
water for 6 to 12 hours prior to
grouting. Remove any free water from the surface just before grouting using either siphon action
or rags.
FORMWORK : Build strong forms, securely anchored and shoved. On the side where grout is to
be poured allow a minimum of 15 cm clearance and 15 cm or more for the head of the grout. On
all the other sides a clearance of 5 cm may be allowed.
MIXING OF GROUT : Use pan type/paddle type mixers. Mixers should be of suitable size and
capacity. These mixers should permit mixing and placing operations to proceed without
interruption. Avoid hand mixing. To get desired consistency add 80% of recommended % of
water, then add rest of water as per required consistency. The first batch may be made of grout
more flowable then required so as to lubricate the surface and avoid blockage of grout that
follows. Do not mix more grout at a time then that which can be placed in 10-15 min duration. Do
not use grout that has stiffened due to any delay. Please note that ambient temperature should
be 27 +/- 2 Deg Cen. If ambient temp is higher then use cold water of 10-15 Deg Cen. Please
ensure that grout temp should be 25 Deg Cen +/- 1.
PLACING : There should not be any vibration nearby the foundation. Place the grout quickly and
continuously. Do not vibrate the grout. Steps must be taken to keep the grout in full contact with
underside of the base plate until the grout hardens. Maintaining a head of grout in the forms or
weighing of the grout by damp sand. To obtain effective shrinkage compensate adequate
restraint on all sides for 7 days shall be ensured. When using in location with exposed top
reinforcement bars of atleast 0.3% of cross sections area in both directions within 10 to 20 mm
from top should be provided. Please avoid grouting in day time particularly in summer.
CURING : After placement grout should be immediately covered with wet burlaps and gunny
bags upto 24 hrs inorder to maintain 90% humidity. (Please ensure wet gunny bags shouldn't
have contact with green grout). There after it should be cured for atleast 7 days so as to give
ultimate results.
SERVICEABILITY : Normally commissioning of the machinery can start after 3 days of laying
the grout. However, it is advisable to Consult the design engineer.
PRECAUTION :
Do not use any admixture with shrinkkomp grout.
Shrinkkomp must be stored in dry place in covered Godown.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS FOR SHRINKKOMP GROUT TO BE USED IN HOT WEATHER

1) The temp of grout at time of placement should be 25 deg C.

2) The area to be grouted should be shielded from direct sunlight.
3) The mixer should be located in a covered place. Over mixing should be avoided. After
every batch the mixer should be cleaned with water. First the water should be poured in
the mixer and then dry grout. The mixer should be cooled by pouring cold water.
4) The water temp should be in the range of 5-10 deg C.
5) The mixed grout should be transported and placed quickly and continuously, not allowing
formation of cold joint.
6) Curing is essential in all locations where the grout is exposed. The grout should be
immediately covered with wet gunny bags after Grouting.
7) Air relief vents to be suitably located and grout should be poured from one side only.
8) Just prior to grouting the location should be adequately watered to maintain the
temperature.
9) During hot weather grouting should be carried out when temperature is cooler.

described in our data sheet. This sheet also contains suggestions that highlight generally accepted field practices for grouting of heavy
machines. These suggestions may need to tailored to any specific location appropriately to suit the installation.
