Benefits of Study Group

The following are the greatest benefits of joining a study group.

 Improve your notes

Study groups provide an excellent means for students to compare class notes.
Comparing notes allows students to fill in any information or important concepts
they may have missed during class.
 Sharing talents
Since everyone has individual talents and unique insights, group members can learn
from each other. Study groups provides students an opportunity to benefit from
the talents and knowledge of the other group members.
 Support system-gets motivation
School can be very stressful , so it is advantageous to seek support from people in
similar situations that can provide you support. Joining or forming a study group is a
great way to give and receive motivation and support from fellow students and group
members. And if you become sick or are unable to attend class, you can get notes
from members of your study group.
 Share more material
Working in groups makes it possible to focus on more concepts since multiple
people can review more material than just one. Many groups decide to assign topics
to individual group members to research and study and then provide a summary for
the group. This strategy allows students to learn a lot more, in a lot shorter time,
than if they were to study each topic on their own.
 It makes learning fun!
Studying with a group is a great way to liven up your study sessions. It can be very
monotonous and draining to spend long hours alone in the library. Joining a study
group and studying in a group environment makes learning much more fulfilling and
enjoyable.
8 Steps to Effective Time Management for Students
Time management is a key to academic success.
1. Organize your time
. The main objective of time management is for you to have a clear picture of your upcoming days,
weeks, and months. It is a way for you to discover what time you have available to devote to study,
recreation, or other activities. Make the decision to be the master of your life, rather than its suffering
slave!
2. Assess your time
. The method requires you to keep track of everything you do for an entire week, from the time you
wake up to the time you fall asleep. That means recording every single detail.
3. Set your priorities
The objective of time management is to allocate time wisely, so you can achieve your goals. If you
wanted to be an Olympic swimmer or ice skater, you would have to practice several hours a day for
years. In the same way, to be a top student you must have a good idea of the study requirements.
4. Make a schedule
After establishing your priorities, set up a schedule which respects your priorities. A wide variety of
student organizers, diaries, planners, electronic tools and time management systems are available on
the market. Choose or create whatever seems best for you. Then, set up your schedule in this order:
 Mark in all your fixed commitments such as classes, seminars, tutorials, and part-time jobs. These are
the givens, which you cannot change.
 Add in study time.
 Mark in other non-study activities..
5. Use a calendar or review card
In addition to your weekly planner, invest in a large monthly wall calendar. Jot down all the
important due dates, deadlines, exams, etc so they are in front of you as a visual reminder.
7. Plan activities logically
Get to know your bodily cycle; then, schedule activities around it as much as possible. If you always
feel sleepy after lunch, for example, use the time to get in your daily walk, instead of fighting to keep
your eyes open over a history book.
8. Plan some down time.
You are not a robot! Schedule some time to relax so you can rest and refresh your mind and body.
This will enable you to study more effectively. Get enough sleep as well. A sleep-deprived student is
not going to be able to perform at his or her best.
Gardening as your great hobby

Keeps You Active

Tasks such as mixing soil, filling pots, and watering plants is a

valuable way to actively strengthen hands. Working both upper
and lower body muscles also makes gardening a moderate
intensity exercise. Things such as watering plants and pulling
weeds work upper body muscles, lifting mulch works lower body
muscles, and raking works the entire body.

2- Backyard Produce Encourages A Healthier Diet

Vegetable gardening positively impacts diet as those who cultivate vegetables
are shown to consume 40% more vegetables and are 3.5 times more likely to
consume the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables per day.
Gardeners also tend to share the produce they grow, thus improving the
vegetable intake of their friends and family and keeping them connected to
their social network.

3- Outdoor Tasks Improve Your Mind and Immune

System
Spending time tending a garden aides brain and mental health by keeping the
mind occupied with gardening tasks and providing a sense of achievement..

6- Community Involvement
For vegetable or herb gardeners, the Market is not only a way to take in extra
income, it’s a way to meet fellow gardeners. Swap gardening tips with new
friends while meeting people from across the community who attend the
market to purchase produce.

Water
Rivers carry water and nutrients to areas all around the earth. They
play a very important part in the water cycle, acting as drainage
channels for surface water. Rivers drain nearly 75% of the earth's
land surface.

Habitats
Rivers provide excellent habitat and food for many of the earth's
organisms.

Many rare plants and trees grow by rivers. Ducks, voles, otters and
beavers make their homes on the river banks. Reeds and other
plants like bulrushes grow along the river banks.

Other animals use the river for food and drink. Birds such as
kingfishers eat small fish from the river. In Africa, animals such as
antelopes, lions and elephants go to rivers for water to drink. Other
animals such as bears catch fish from rivers.

Water pollution is the most dangerous and worst form of pollution putting lives in danger. The water
we drink daily looks very clear however contains verities of microscopic pollutants floating in it. Our
earth is covered with water (almost 70% of total) so a little change in it could affect lives worldwide.

The highest level of water pollution is caused by the pollutants come from agriculture field because
of the high use of fertilizers, insecticides, and pesticides to enhance the production of crops. We
need to bring vast improvements in the type of chemicals we use in the agriculture. Oil is another big
pollutant polluting the water. Leaked oil from the land or rivers, oil transport through ships, ship
crashes, etc flows to the sea or ocean and affecting whole water. Other hydrocarbon particles get
settled down through rain water from air to ocean or sea water. Other toxic wastes through leakage
of landfills, old mines, dumps, sewage, industrial wastes, and farms get mixed to the water.
Radio is a great source of entertainment. Give yuour views
1. Entertaining – I know it is entertaining to listen to your favorite songs again and
again or hear the latest songs from your favorite band or artist but you also get
entertained with the disc jockeys. I have been listening to a particular station for
years because I find the disc jockeys funny. They tell jokes and share
experiences of their personal lives. They even invite celebrities or famous people
in their radio station to interview. They make their own jingle or song just to
entertain their listeners.
2. Educational – Aside from the songs they play and the entertainment that they do,
listening to radio can be educational because they also tackle about current
events. They don’t just tell Hollywood or local celebrity news but they also report
politics, religion, and even traffic reports. They share their insights and some of
the listeners respond to their insights via Twitter, Facebook, or other social media
sites.
3. You get to win stuff – They have so many games, contests almost every
day. Some of their sponsors give gifts of git certificates to their listeners if they
could just name their brand or their latest product. They give away free movie and
concert tickets. These tickets are mostly VIP tickets that cost P5,000 each. If
they feel a little more generous, they give out free trip to beaches or other
awesome getaway places. They also give away gift certificates for food,
restaurants, and even apparels.
4. For Counseling – A lot of radio stations now have a portion where disc jockeys
play the role of a councilor or a friend for their listeners with problems that they
want to share. Most of these problems are the matter of the heart. They help
these listeners live via phone patch or thru email or letter. They read the problem
on air and give their own personal solution. Other listeners can also give their
inputs or opinions if they wish to.
5. Stress Reliever – When you are stuck in traffic, it is inevitable for you not to lose
your temper. Listening to good music can help you calm down but hearing your
favorite disc jockeys cheering you up in the middle of traffic is much fun. If they
have games, you can either play along by yourself or give them a call. You can
also request songs that you want to hear especially those are not yet part of your
playlist. You can greet friends and tell them that you are stuck in traffic.
Sports Day in My School

Every school celebrates its Sports Day and, to this all, the children very
longingly look forward to. My school the St. Andrews Sr. Secondary School
also has its Sports Day every year sometime in the month of November.

Weeks before the Sports Day, children start giving their names for different
events, and then, after the school hours, practices start. The children, who
do not participate in any events, get other duties of the like of making
relevant charts, making lists of games and participants etc.

The day starts with the usual Assembly and then, all of us are instructed to
go to our allotted places on the lawn, class wise. Now, the guest speaks
usually on the importance of Sports and Sports Day, and declares the
opening of the function. As soon as these two important speeches are over,
the Chief Guest declares the Sports Day open, and there and then the
events start.

One by one the events take place in a very well disciplined manner and the
winners listed and made to stand on the Victory Stand and cheered by one
and all. The games and Sports last for about two hours and then comes the
most interesting moment of the function the moment of appreciating the
winners by awarding them gifts and prizes, cups and shields. This is the
ultimate moment of pleasure for winners when, amidst loud clapping and
shouting of cheers, they get their rewards for their good work from the
Chief Guest.

Even though I am not a very great enthusiast of games or sports, I just love
this day and look forward to it through the year. I also make it a point to
attend school on this day every year though I never participate. The thrill,
the excitement, and then, the pleasure of winning are all moments worth
seeing and enjoying. I love to see my friends and others participating with
their hearts and souls with a complete involvement in the games. Their
victory boosts up even my morale. Every year, after seeing this event, I
decide that, I should also try to take part, but, the enthusiasm soon fades
away as, I must admit that, I am not too keen a lover or fan of sports and
games. I do love to watch it all but, I never feel the urge to participate.
