Dear Dr. Biyo,

Greetings Ma’am!

I am Rey S. Genosa Jr., a 3rd year student taking up a bachelor course in Electronics and
Communications Engineering in Mindanao State University- General Santos Campus and a DOST
scholar recipient of the program RA 7687 batch 2015 and I am writing this letter to your good office and
hoping to consider my appeal with regards of my grade deficiency.

During the first semester of the AY 2017-2018, I took regular loads of 20 units which involve 6
lecture and 2 laboratory subjects. Two of which (ES 61- Static and Rigid Bodies & ES 85- Probability
and Statistics for Engineers) obtained a failing grade as the semester ended. And I know that in virtue of
the signed contract, you have the reason to terminate my scholarship, and that is the mere reason of
making this letter. However, I can assure you that the grades failed are not because of inadvertence and
negligence.

In line with this issue ma’am, I take responsibility and fully intend to take remedy to cope with
my grade deficiencies. More so, I am pleased to say that I passed all my other subjects especially major
subjects that I really worked hard which enables me to remain as a regular student taking regular loads in
this second semester as indicated in the Course Prospectus.

The above failed subjects have no effect with my current status ma’am and its prerequisites are
said to be taken on the next academic year. And I am planning to re-enroll ES 61 and ES 85 this
upcoming summer (June-July) and promising that at this time, I will be able to pass these subjects.

After all these happenings, I was very disappointed and upset with myself, but I used all these
failures and experiences to take action to sustain my goal in life and this never hinders me to strive more
for my dream of becoming an engineer.

I’m hoping for your consideration in this case ma’am since my only recourse and source of
sustaining my studies is the scholarship granted to me. I really consider this scholarship as a privilege and
this privilege is a great favor for me to meeting all my requirements and needs as a student.

As of now I’m doing my best and giving my full potential to pass all the subjects this semester
and to never repeat the failures made by past. Still I want to take this opportunity to thank you for giving
scholarship opportunity and to take time reading this request. Thank you so much for your assistance and
consideration ma’am.

Respectfully yours,

REY S. GENOSA, JR.
