Strengths of the lesson:
 Lovely video playing when I arrived
 Children well- behaved and quiet
 Good questions
 Better contact and rapport with the students during circle time
 Good to give one student the papers to hand out
 Groups are much better behaved than last time
 Lots of peer interaction
 Well prepared lesson
 Very nice interaction with students during activity time – more relaxed and smiling
 Children much better behaved and on task during activity time
 Good to see the TA and your MST supporting the students as well during activity time
 Good to see one boy get up and look at the words on the wall to help him
Areas for development:
 Keep reminding them to raise their hands in circle time – they need constant reminders not
to shout out and to answer only when you have chosen a student
 Don’t say shhhhh – it doesn’t work with a large group
 The transition to the tables could be a bit tidier – send them to the tables by gender ie boys
firsts or girls first or by group
 What questions were you asking them during activity time and how will you use these for
your assessment of the students
 At the end of the lesson give them 1 minute/30 seconds – tell them to finish their sentence
and remind them to put their names on the paper
 What kind of follow-up activity could you do after this lesson?
