* Describe water problem and causes, Preferably indicate the specific region and
country, analyze the current situation, existing measures and the main causes of
failure (if failed), highlight the importance and urgency of problem, demonstrate the
influences of problem with the degree of exposure and scale.

Problem Description
Make out problem description in the suggested form below within 2 pages.
* This is the most important part of the problem submission. Problem owners
should clearly address all the selection criteria and refer to the instruction.
Problem owners are also requested to upload referential information(figures) for
solution providers to analyze the current status of water circumstance and to
estimate the degree of exposure to the problem.

WWCH 2018 PROBLEM DESCRIPTION

1. Basic information
Describe basic information with characteristic of your region :
- Name of country, region/state/province, city/town/community, population,
(both country and problem region), map, etc.
- Location, altitude, deforestation, desertification, urbanization, land use
- Climate, precipitation, water problem history, etc.
2. Water Circumstances (Optional)
Describe status of water circumstances. Considering your problems and topics you
belong to, you could provide information below.
- Industrial complex, water pollution sources, water related policy, regulation
- Water treatment plants, sewerage system, water disaster mitigation system
- Water resource, water supply(per capita), water quality, water reuse, etc.
3. Problem description
Problem must be strongly linked to issues that the world is facing today to solve or
related to a reserved task that the world is willing to overcome. Problem should be
specified with practical information (including particular country, region, causes,
current situation and measures, etc.) rather than vague or broad demonstration so
that solution providers could well understand and propose an appropriate solution.

- Describe either a phenomenon or circumstance that their region is being faced

with; such as water resources insecurity, inefficiency in water management and water
hazard(drought, flood, tsunami, etc.), and define direct *causes to the problem and
*influences of the problem.

- Demonstrate either a caution or a urgency of problem with respect to how to the

world must prepare for and act to prevent a water crisis and the needs to be dealt
with as soon as possible.
- Describe notable influences in which a large number of people and assets are
exposed to difficulties and defined causes which result in the global communities
potentially liable to face the water disaster.

Defined or analyzed cause(s) that could help solution provider to approach effective
and/or appropriate solution, please consider that vague or broad problem would have
too many causes to the problem. If possible, do present an immediate cause and a
secondary cause.
* Influences (when, where, what, how and whom?)
If your region has been influenced from problem, what is/are it/they? when and where
does it occur? and how does it affect and whom? or describe expected influences.
