printed  copy  of  the  
Lab  Assignment  
and  make  a  sketch!  
Don’t  be  late  to  class!  
Laboratory  Rules  
1.  No  Food  &  Drinks  while  working  with  Laboratory  
Equipment!  
2.  Lab  Assignment:  Read  and  Print  out  the  Lab  Assignment  
before  you  go  to  the  Laboratory.  Be  prepared!!  
3.  Planning:  Plan  your  work:  Create  a  sketch  of  what  you  shall  
do  (System  sketch),  etc.  
4.  Lab  Equipment:  You  need  to  show  the  printed  Lab  
Assignment  and  the  System  Sketch  to  the  Lab  personnel  
before  you  get  any  Equipment  
5.  Start  Working.  Be  careful  when  working  with  Electricity!  
Make  sure  everything  is  wired  correctly  and  safe  before  you  
connect  the  Equipment  to  a  power  source  
6.  Take  Notes  (incl.  screen  shots,  save  your  code,  save  log  files,  
etc.)  during  the  Laboratory  Work  (you  will  need  it  when  
wriWng  the  Report,  Exam  preparaWon,  etc.)   3

Programming  IDE.     Tips  &  Tricks  
Visual  Studio,  LabVIEW,  etc.  have  great  
Debugging  Tools!  Use  them!!

Your  hardware  device  
You  probably  will  find  the   most  likely  works,  so  you  
answer  on  the  Internet   don't  need  a  new  device!!  
It  is  your  job  to  make  it  work!  
Check  your  electric  circuit,  electrical  cables,  DAQ  
device,  etc.  Check  if  the  wires  from/to  the  DAQ  
Another  person  in  the  world  probably   device  is  correct.  Are  you  using  the  same  I/O  Channel  
had  a  similar  problem   in  your  So^ware  as  the  wiring  suggest?  etc.

the  classroom  without   Scan/Enter  the  Barcode  on  the  Equipment  you  want  
permission  from  the  teacher!!!   to  borrow  and    then  the  Barcode  on  your  Access  Card  
What  is  Lab  Inventory  System  (LIS)?  
•  A  system  that  keeps  track  of  Laboratory  
Equipment  at  HiT/TF  
•  Employees  and  Students  can  use  it  when  they  
need  to  borrow  Lab  Equipment  home,  to  group  
rooms,  etc.  
•  When  you  use  it  for  the  first  Wme  you  need  to  
register  informaWon  about  yourself  (Name,  Login  
Name,  Password,  E-­‐mail,  Phone,  etc.)  
•  Do  not  take  equipment  out  of  the  classroom  
without  permission  from  the  teacher/supervisor!!
