Split-Complementary color scheme

The split-complementary color scheme is a variation of the complementary color scheme. In

addition to the base color, it uses the two colors adjacent to its complement.
This color scheme has the same strong visual contrast as the complementary color scheme, but
has less tension.

Problem:
Create a 10" x 10" composition with 100 1" x 1" squares that represent the value range between
a split complementary combination.

The value scale will have 3 color combinations with 35 steps between each color:
● Choose Split-Complementary color combination
● Map out colors in a small sketch
● Layout your grid (1" squares with 1/2" in between)
● Begin mixing (make sure to make notes on your gird)

This project should be mounted in an engaging composition that depicts implied movement and
visual texture.
