Safety Note
It is advised to maintain a maximum stability of electrical current in the laboratory (no more than 10%
variation). When this cannot be guaranteed, usage of the following supplementary devices is
strongly recommended:
Electronic stabilizer
This is used to stabilize the electric voltage in the laboratory. Any stabilizer, currently available on
the market, with a power potential of at least 0.5 KW is used.
No Break Module UPS (Uninterrupted Power Supply)
This module has two important features:
o Stabilizes the main power
o Supplies power to the instrument in case of main power line failure
To improve the device’s stability and to protect it from overcurrent, one fuse is built in the CYANScope.
When the fuse needs to be replaced, it is important to use the correct fuse to prevent damage to the
CYANScope.
For the CYANScope the following fuses are recommended:
Two types of fuses are widely used: the fast blowing (F) and the slow blowing fuses (T). It is possible
to replace a blown-out T-fuse with an F-fuse. It is not allowed to switch an F-fuse for a T-fuse. This
could lead to serious damage.
NOTE: Alcohol and ether are highly flammable. Keep them away from the fire, sources of heat (light
bulb) or potential sources of electrical sparks, and use them in a well-ventilated room.
NOTE: Damage to the instrument due to dismantling (even during replacement) and/or wrong use
of the optical parts is not covered by warranty.

Assemble
The following figure shows the installation sequence of the components. The number in the figure
shows the assembly steps.
NOTE:
- Before installing, please ensure that every component is clean.
- Take care not to scratch any parts or glass surface.
NOTE:
Installing the objectives in sequence of increasing magnification will make the change of
magnification to be easier while using.
Clean the objective regularly as the lens is susceptible to accumulate dust.
When replacing the objective, slowly turn the nosepiece until you hear a « click » which
indicates that the objective is in place.
9
NOTE:
The cable and cords are vulnerable when bent or twisted, never subject the power cord to
excessive force.
Use the supplied power cord all the times. If lost or damaged, select the same standard cord.
The microscope works at 100 V ~ 240 V
⑥ is the fuse cover; ⑦ is the fuse
10
NOTE:
During microscope use and directly after turning off the lamp, the bulb, the lamp house and
nearby parts will be very hot and may cause serious burns. When replacing the lamp, turn
the main switch to « O » (off), disconnect the power plug, and make sure the bulb, the lamp
room and periphery had the time to cool down.
Insert the bulb gently. Squeezing too hard will damage the bulb.
To prevent reduced bulb life or cracking, do not touch the bulb with bare hands. If
fingerprints are accidentally left on the bulb, wipe the bulb with a soft cloth.
Use the specified halogen Lamp 6 V and 20 W (CM001-S01).
11
12
NOTE: Be careful when changing the objective. If you finish the observation with the short working
distance objective, and want to change another one, ensure the objective does not touch the
specimen.
N OTE: To make the observation more convenient, you can use the locking set ③ to fix the stage in a
vertical direction.
13
N OTE:
- The condenser and the objective are coaxial. It has been adjusted before leaving the factory,
so the user does not need to adjust them.
- The highest position of the condenser has been adjusted too.
N OTE:
- The aperture iris diaphragm is designed for the adjustment of the numerical aperture, not
for the brightness.
Generally, setting the aperture iris diaphragm to 70- 80% of the N.A. (Numerical Aperture) of
the objective in use will provide an image with good contrast. If you want to observe the
image of the aperture iris diaphragm, remove one eyepiece and look through the tube. You
will see a dark circle encroaching on the bottom of the tube.

2. Draw a small point in the center of a microscope slide as well as on the left eyepiece (as shown
in the figure below). For this, use a marker which you can easily remove with some ethanol
afterwards.
3. Look through the left eyepiece (the marked one) and find the point on the microscope slide in
the viewing field. Then move the stage to keep the point on the microscope slide coincide with
the point on the eyepiece.
4. Put the marked eyepiece into the right eyepiece tube and loosen the slotted screw as shown in
the figure below. Then adjust the position of the prism (don’t touch the prism with your hands
but use for example lint free tissue) to keep the point on the microscope slide coincide with the
point on the eyepiece. If they coincide, tighten the screw.
5. At last, put back the prism cover and tighten the 4 screws.

Attention!
When removing the back panel, please pay attention to the cables connected to the back panel. Be
careful not to damage them.

20
If the incoming voltage is correct, it means that there is NO problem between the power
connection and the PC board. However, it does NOT mean that the PC board is working
correctly, therefore you need to measure the outgoing voltage by following the procedure
below.
21
The outgoing voltage of the PC board depends on the position of the brightness adjustment knob.
The higher the brightness, the higher the measured voltage. The lower the position of the brightness
adjustment knob, the lower the voltage.
The voltage should be between 30 -230 V AC
If the measured voltage is not correct, the PC board has not been adjusted properly or the PC
board is defective and should be replaced (CM001-S15)
Before replacing the PC board, please verify the brightness adjustment knob. (See Chapter 9.2.6)
Attention!
When you replace the PC board, it is very important to perform the adjustment of the brightness!
(See Chapter 9.2.2)
22
23
Attention!
It is essential that the upper and the lower cable indicated on the picture above are soldered on the
board in the same position. Do NOT switch them!
Attention!
When you replace the PC board, it is very important to perform the adjustment of the brightness!
(See Chapter 9.2.2)
24
If the output voltage of the PC board (A) is correct and the measured output voltage of the
transformer (B) is correct, than the transformer works fine.
If the output voltage of the PC board (A) is correct and the measured output voltage of the
transformer (B) is NOT correct, the transformer is broken and should be replaced. (See
chapter 9.2.5)
If the measured voltage on the 2 pins of the lamp is correct, but the lamp is NOT burning, the
lamp is broken and should be replaced.
Tip!
You can move the lamp a bit forward (see image below) so the connections are easier to reach. The
socket is very fragile because of the ceramic material, please handle the socket with care.
Procedure:
1. Remove the rear panel of the microscope (See Chapter 9.1)
2. Disconnect the 2 crimp pin connectors (circled in red in the picture below)
The colored (blue in the picture below) wires are the outlet from the transformer and these 2
wires are connected with the 2 white cables of the ceramic socket
3. Cut the 4 wires (red, yellow, green and black in the picture below) going from the transformer to
the back of the Hz switch.
NOTE:
Make sure you have enough room to solder the cables of the new transformer, so do not cut
too close to the Hz switch.
26
4. Take out the transformer by unscrewing the 4 screws attaching it to the instrument
8. Turn ON the instrument and verify the output voltage of the new transformer (See chapter 9.2.4)
27
Procedure:
1. Remove the rear panel of the microscope (See Chapter 9.1)
2. Check whether the two wires coming from the potentiometer for brightness are properly
connected to the circuit board
3. First mark the 2 wires Upper/Lower (indicated on the picture below)
4. Then disconnect them from the PC board
NOTE: if you disconnect these 2 wires, you should be able to reconnect them after this procedure by
soldering. Do not switch the upper and lower cable, the correct position is crucial.
