The Totaliy Enclosed Vanguard is recommended for areas
where dust and grit cause reflector maintenance prob ems.
The factory installed borosillcate glass drlp cover provides
uplight in this totally enclosed unit. The glass is heat
resistant and completely sealed for resistance to moisture.
A factory installed ceramic filter permits the enclosed
reflector to "breath" air which is free ol dirt particles. Since
,a
enclosed luminaires force hot air out dur n9 lamp operation and .l-i:-
force cooler air in when lamp is iurned off, ihe fi ier acts as Glass Drip Cover
a barrier to d rt padicles before they can contaminate the
reflector and lamp surface. Result: Higher maintained light
outpui. Filter can be washed or replaced during norma
relarnping or maintenance perlods. Ceramic Filter
An impact resistanl glass door cover ls also provided.
The door is fully gasketed and can be h nged or removed
for convenient maintenance. \

Simplified Assembly
A specia y designed support rlng (A) can be positioned and
secured to standard %" heavy-wall conduit. Ring s threaded
onto condlrit and locked nto position by a thread destruct ve
screw. Complete unit s s mply lifted and eased into hang ng
position. (B) External hook hangers are not requlred to attain
the advaniage of safe, fast insiallation.
Conven;ent Wiring
All necessary wires are accessible from the lsolated wring
charnber (C) located at the top of the ballast housing rnaking t
unnecessary to enter the ballasi compartment for connections.
Once connections are made (D) the lock-on w ring access cover
is put lnto place. (E) Lock screws are provded for fixture
orlentat on.
Built-in Safety Features
The shock reslstant, cast aluminum ba ast housing (F) serves
as both a suppoft and enclosure for the ballast and capacitor.
F xture support is not dependent on strength of screws or bo ts.
Tota fixture weght is dstrlbuted ihrough the auminum sirap
which embraces the entre ballast compaftment. The ba ast
cover plate is eas y removed for access to ba ast conrponents.
Safety cords retain ballast cover plate during ma ntenance. The
reflecior is supported by two heavy duty NEMA style Latches,
(G) proven for their dependab lty in outdoor ghting appllca

Versatility of Application
The light d stribution pattern for the Vanguard s "buit in the
fixture by means of variatlons of ght center length. The same
reflector can be used in a multiplic ty of llght distribution varia
tions simplifying installaion and maintenance of refectors.
