Title:
Regional Justice Center XI: A Co-located and Culturally Iconic Judiciary Institution
for Multiracial Public through Dignified Fluid Architecture.

Rationale:
Justice system is one that defines its mission to help the community solving the problems that
threaten the sense of well-being of a wholesome and purposeful society. It is a key part of
attaining and sustaining a constructive, secure, and dignified life in the country.
The Regional Justice Center XI is a multifunctional justice hub of the Davao Region that aims to
envision a new distinct character for the judiciary system. The proposal is incorporated to the
traditional “Four Pillars of Justice”, namely: prosecution, law enforcement,
corrections/detention, and the community. The inter-related activities of each part of the
justice system together can reduce crime, speed trials, reduce incarceration rates, and educate
the community. The complex serves as the catalyst for a strong foundation and providing
justice in the region. It reflects the vision of the new government structures in the country that
is to be a culturally iconic and a legacy for generations to come and also an image of the region
as a humane and democratic place with a commitment to the enrichment of urban life. The aim
is to have a secure yet welcoming environment with the use of the fluid design which
considered as one integrated block. There is no individuality to the complex and it is treated
with patterns, shapes, and geometries in order to achieve fluidity. It does not only represent
the law, justice, and public security and safety, but also a symbol of community pride and
architectural styles, and provide a more inviting identity to our society.
