About Us
Oranim Educational Initiatives was founded in 1986 as a travel company geared
toward the young Jewish traveler. Today Oranim Educational Initiatives is Israel's
premiere educational tourism provider. Our broad menu of programs in Israel and
abroad focuses on a Jewish audience, includes a diversity of populations including
Christian tourism. Oranim has developed unique travel curricula based on the
communality of the Jewish people. We encourage travel to Israel as part of
life-long learning concerning the history and heritage of the Jewish People. Some of
our groups also travel to Europe in order to trace the roots of Jewish and Israeli
history, and to mark the contributions made by Jews to various cities across the globe.
Because Oranim was established and is operated in Israel - in the Jewish national and
cultural heart - we are just the people to turn to when you are looking for a special,
out-of-the-ordinary look at the Jewish People.

I am ultimately so grateful that I got to experience everything that I did with

Oranim. I did a lot of traveling and I also had some great experiences while

The placement coordinator at Oranim set me up with an interview at a leading

Israeli jewelry designer, Michal Negrin. Before I knew it, I was interning at
their head office in the marketing department, where I helped design and
implement external communication materials to create a brand identity which
included brochures, advertisements, and a new English website. I relished every
moment being in Israel; especially with the people I met, my internship at
Michal Negrin, the exciting and educational trips we went on, and our
beachfront apartment!

FREE Community Involvement
Immerse yourself in Israeli society as a contributing member of a
community. Expose yourself to life in Israel by living among its
citizens and strengthening your ties to the country and its people.
Spend your days volunteering in meaningful service projects.
Placements are made according to the needs of the community and
your talents. Spend your nights and weekends relaxing with new

Kibbutz Ulpan & Community Involvement

Learn conversational Hebrew and engage in meaningful service
projects in this work-study program. Get in touch with Israel’s
history by living and working in its pioneering community. Combine
intensive Hebrew study with significant volunteer work in the
kibbutz you will call home. Live with your fellow participants in
private housing while building group and Jewish identity. This
program includes monthly trips throughout Israel, intensive
Hebrew study, service projects and weekly Israel education
seminars.

FREE Eilat Hotel Experience

Earn valuable experience in the hotel and tourism industries while
living and playing in Israel’s resort city. Oranim partners with leading
hotel chains in Eilat to provide participants with internship placements.
Rotate among a series of positions in your hotel and get a broad
perspective of hotel management. Study “Intro to Hospitality
service” at Ben Gurion University’s Eilat campus. This program
includes trips throughout Israel, intensive Hebrew study, service
projects and weekly Israel education seminars.

Tel Aviv Internship Experience
Build your resume while spending five meaningful months in
fabulous Tel Aviv – Israel’s business hub and cultural capital (you’ll
live beachside in the hottest spots in town). Internship coordinators
will place you in an internship tailored to your career goals and
academic background. As an intern in Tel Aviv, you won't make
coffee -- you'll receive hands-on guidance in your field. This
program includes monthly trips throughout Israel, intensive
Hebrew study, service projects and weekly Israel education

Israel Volunteer Center

Whether you are 18 or 80, come and contribute to Israel through
meaningful volunteer service. Come alone, with friends, with a
community group or organization. Our coordinators will place you in
a project tailored to your talents and requirements. Select the length
of time you wish to stay (1 week or more), the region/city where you
wish to volunteer, the population you wish to serve and the kind of
work you wish to perform. À la carte services (such as touring in
Israel, private guides, domestic transportation) are available.
