i. form a complete sentence using present continuous tense on the ‘Present Continuous Train’
correctly in groups of 5.
ii. say the sentences using present continuous tense correctly based on the composite picture

about what's happening right now or to express
something that is not happening right now.
Eg. They are eating lunch right now.
You are not watching the movie.
- It can also be used to express something that

 How to form Present Continuous Tense?

- We form the present continuous tense with the
verb to be (am, is, are) and the present participle
form (-ing) of the verb.
Eg. Is (verb to be) + reading (read + ing)
Are (verb to be) + writing (write + ing)

Practice 1. Teacher divides pupils into groups of 5. TA :

3. Teacher asks each group take turn to come out and pick a Subject cards

9. Teacher discusses the answers with pupils.
10. Pupils from each group take turn to do the activity.
Step 2
(10 minutes) 1. Teacher put a stack of composite picture cards on the table
and explain the rules of the ‘Present Continuous Cards
Game’.
2. Pupils listen attentively to the teacher.
3. One representatives from each group picks a card and
plays the game.
4. Teacher draws a card and show it to the pupils.
5. Pupils who see the matching pictures raise their hands and
say out the activity in complete sentence using present
continuous tense.
6. Pupils who get the sentence correct win the cards and
continue the game with their new cards.
7. The group who win the most numbers of cards wins the
game.
Remark
‘Present Continuous Cards’ game rules:
1. There is a stack of composite picture cards.
Each composite picture card contains four
pictures which each demonstrates an
activity. The card might have a common
activity as in another card.
2. One representative from each group picks a
card from the stack of cards. Then, show it
to your group members to let them know the
activities on the card.
3. After that, teacher draws a card from the
stack and show it to the pupils.
4. The pupils who see the matching pictures
should raise up their hand and say out the
sentences using present continuous tense.
5. If the sentence is correct, they win the card.
If it is wrong, the chance goes to other
groups.
6. The cards that they win become their new
cards. So the pupils need to be familiar with
all the different pictures on the cards to
continue the game with their new cards.
7. Pupils take turn to come out and play the
game.
8. Teacher continues to draw the cards until
he/she uses all of the cards.
9. Lastly, the group with the most numbers of
cards wins the game and get their rewards.
