1. Scope of work

a. Scope shall cover design, manufacture, assembly & testing at manufacturer’s works, delivery at site, Yes/No
installation, testing & commissioning into service, carrying out all acceptance tests, for VRV/VRF Air-
Conditioning and Ventilation System.

b. The Scope of Work and Technical Specifications shall constitute Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and Tender Yes/No
Drawings enclosed herewith.

c. The Scope of Work shall include supply, installation, testing and commissioning of following major Yes/No
items:
1. 3 nos. VRV/VRF type AC Outdoor Units of minimum capacity 270,000 BTU/hr, 235,000 BTU/hr
and 152,000 BTU/hr using refrigerant R410A or 134a,
2. Ceiling suspended and Ceiling cassette type indoor units of various capacities as indicated in the
drawings and in the BOQ,
3. Refrigerant piping including thermal insulation, trunking, supports and required accessories,
4. Power and Control panels,
5. Power and Control cabling including terminations,
6. Condensate piping system including thermal insulation,
7. Centralized system controller, both Hardware and Software including cabling and connection,
8. Any other works for completion and satisfactory operation of the installed system including minor
civil works.

d. The tender drawings shall be as listed below: Yes/No

2. General Requirements and Guidelines

a. Equipment and material proposed for complete system shall comply with this specification and shall be Yes/No
conforming to the requirement of the latest editions of applicable JIS / ARI / BS Standards.

b. Equipment and material proposed for complete system shall be new, free from defects and compatible Yes/No
for correct and efficient performance of the system for providing indoor conditions specified.

c. Power and control cables, connectors and accessories as specified for complete installation shall be Yes/No
supplied and installed.

d. Any component or accessory required for complete and successful operation of the system, either Yes/No
specified in detail or not, shall be supplied and installed, as necessary.

e. In case of a conflict in specifications, shall bring the same to the attention of the Engineer and obtain Yes/No
clarification in writing, as applicable.

f. Shall develop Shop Drawings for the complete system indicating the specific design and installation Yes/No
details of the complete system and shall obtain approval from the Engineer before commencing
installation.

g. Shall provide detailed equipment layout, operator console layout, etc., in various offices and in the Air Yes/No
Conditioning Control Room.

h. Shall be the exclusive / authorized agent for the equipment offered and may be responsible for after Yes/No
sales / service support.

i. Shall investigate the field conditions and shall propose the most suitable equipment, material and / or Yes/No
items for the proposed system.

j. Shall provide surge protection at each of the power supply points to protect equipment by high voltage Yes/No
surges, from lightning or otherwise

k. Shall closely co-ordinate with the Engineer for correct fixing of panels, indoor and outdoor units, Yes/No
trunking, piping, etc., for better aesthetic appearance in the offices.

l. Shall provide for three (03) Officers nominated by the Engineer suitable training, at the installed facility Yes/No
in Parliament on installation, testing, system configuration, trouble-shooting, operation and
maintenance of the system installed

m. Equipment specified for rack mounting shall suitable for mounting on 19” EIA standard racks, and Yes/No
complete with necessary brackets, etc.

n. Shall provide permanent plastic tags or labels for equipment and cable terminations (at both ends) as Yes/No
marked in shop drawings.

o. Shall provide all brackets and accessories for mounting trunking works, wiring, piping, etc., for proper Yes/No
installation.

p. Shall develop As-Built Drawings for the system indicating all the installation details of the complete Yes/No
system and shall obtain approval from the Engineer before final submission (Three hard copies and one
soft copy).

q. Shall request additional information, if required, for execution of works to the satisfaction of the Yes/No
Engineer as per the specifications.

r. Shall submit Operation and Maintenance Manuals, Test record Books, As-Built Drawings, Certificate of Yes/No
Guarantee, etc., before final handing over and Final Acceptance of the facility.

3. Variable Refrigerant Volume/ Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRV/VRF) System Specifications

a. Shall be microprocessor controlled, modular in design, air cooled, each with single outdoor condensing Yes/No
unit and multiple indoor units, and with individual set point control.

b. Shall be incorporated with microprocessor panel control for precise monitoring of status of the system. Yes/No
The electromagnetic interference & conversion losses shall be at minimum levels.

c. Shall have PC based central controller at AC Control Room. Yes/No

d. Shall provide software (installed and back up copy in CD or DVD including license, etc.) with following Yes/No
control features as a minimum:
1. Temperature of each AC space (group and individual monitoring).
2. Number of indoor units and outdoor units working

4. Temperature set point control of each AC spaces and/or for each indoor unit.
5. On/Off control for each outdoor unit and
6. Time scheduled On/Off control for each indoor unit.

e. Each individual Outdoor/Indoor unit shall be factory assembled, wired, and tested and shall be shipped Yes/No
with initial refrigerant charge.

f. Shall deliver units to the site with the full shipping packaging and shall remove packaging at site in front Yes/No
of Engineer’s representative.

g. Shipping document including LC, Bills of Laden, Custom Clearing Documents, shall be forwarded (price Yes/No
information erased) to the Engineer at delivery for verification of serial numbers of units, etc.

4. VRV/VRF System Specifications – Outdoor Condensing Unit

a. Shall be fitted with compressors of highly efficient fully hermetic scroll/inverter type. Yes/No

b. Shall be of multiple compressor type with electronic controls, capable of loading and unloading to follow Yes/No
the variations on cooling loads, and capable of capacity control from 10% to 100% of rated capacity.

6. VRV/VRF System Specifications – Indoor Units

a. Indoor units shall be Ceiling Suspended or Ceiling Cassette type including wired remote controllers Yes/No

b. Indoor units shall be fitted with direct driven multi-blade type blower, statically and dynamically Yes/No

8. Refrigerant Piping and Pipe Insulation

a. Shall use refrigerant quality hard drawn, seamless copper tubes with brazed connections and Yes/No
appropriate distribution joints, and headers.

b. Shall use Refnet joints supplied by VRV/VRF manufacturer where required or recommended. Yes/No

c. Shall keep all pipe ends sealed to keep the entire pipe works clean and free from contamination until Yes/No
immediately prior to making a joint.

d. Shall route the pipe work at site in such a manner that brazed joints are kept to a minimum. Yes/No

e. Shall install the distribution refrigeration pipe joints and headers in appropriate orientations to Yes/No
enable correct distribution of refrigerant.

f. Shall pressure test complete installation of refrigerant pipe work to hold 1.5 times of the working Yes/No
pressure, or 450 psi, which ever the higher, for a minimum period of 24 hours with dry nitrogen.

g. Shall evacuate to a vacuum pressure of -775 mm Hg to keep the entire refrigerant pipe work Yes/No
dehydrated for a minimum period of 4hrs.

h. Shall charge the refrigerant pipe work with additional refrigerant charge. Weight shall be calculated Yes/No
based on the actual length of the refrigerant pipe work. Shall obtain Engineer’s approval before
refrigerant charging.

i. Shall carry out the refrigerant charging process with an appropriate charging station under the Yes/No
supervision of Engineer’s representative.

11 Testing and Commissioning

a. Shall perform all tests necessary to ensure that the material and workmanship conform to the Yes/No
specifications and best industry practice.

b. Prices of individual items shall include cost for installation, testing & commissioning Yes/No

c. Shall have necessary test equipment and experienced manpower in similar works to carry out Yes/No
necessary installation, testing and commissioning.

d. Shall submit test protocols as per the standard specifications to the Engineer two weeks before the Yes/No

g. Shall inspect and check entire pipe work for leakages, vibration and noise, after complete assembly. Yes/No

h. Shall include following test as a minimum on the complete installed system: Yes/No
1. Verify capability to deliver rated cooling capacity, power consumption at rated capacity, and
Coefficient of Performance (COP).
2. Verify continuous and reliable operation as per the design intent. Test shall carry out for a
period of 72 hrs. minimum, continuously.
