What is LEGIS League?
LEGIS League is an awards program for hunter, jumper, and equitation riders
competing at a variety of levels. Both USEF and non-USEF shows are encouraged
to participate in the LEGIS League. LEGIS League eligible hunter and jumper
categories may be classes already offered by SVE, however LEGIS League Medal
Classes are separate classes. LEGIS League registered riders receive points based
on results in those classes.
To qualify for the NorCal LEGIS League Finals horse/rider combinations must
accrue at least 4 points to compete. Information about points:
 Points will be awarded to sixth place in the following manner: 7-5-4-3-2-1
 At least three riders must compete, but points will be awarded on this scale regardless of
the number of entries in the class.
 In the case of a combined class (i.e.: Children's/Adult Hunter), points will be awarded
according to the ribbon won and applied to the rider’s age group (Children’s or Adult).
 Any horse shown by a LEGIS League member will accrue points.

The NorCal Region LEGIS League Finals

will be held at SVE on October 20 & 21, 2018!

2018 LEGIS League Finals Prizes include:

 Jacket for Champion
 Embroidered Saddle pads for TOP TEN
 Finalist Gift Bags
 LEGIS League Stall Plaque

2018 Trainer of the Year

In 2006, Starr Vaughn began the “Trainer of the Year” program celebrating the
successes of trainers and their students. We continue this program in 2018, awarding
points to trainers riding, and their students throughout our show series. The shows that
count for points are May, June, July, August, September and October. Riders must
declare a trainer when entering the show. Points will not be retroactive. At the October
Starr IV: LEGIS League Finals Halloween Special show, the Trainer of the Year will be
named and have their name placed on a perpetual trophy as well as winning an award.
Details About 2018 Awards
SVE is offering riders more opportunities to qualify for year-end High Point Champion Awards. All classes with
a “” are High Point eligible in their respective categories in the table below. SVE awards are separate from
SAHJA and have different point calculations. Points are calculated (10-6-4-2-1-1/2) for placing first (1st) through
sixth (6th) in eligible classes.

Points from the following shows will count with awards presented at the September 9th October show:
May 5-6, June 15-16, July 21-22, August 11-12, September 8-9, and October 21-22, 2017 (prior show year).
Riders need not register for the high point award; points are automatically calculated each show. Additional Category
Classes may change throughout the season.
