A. Scope of the work

The scope comprises supply, installation, testing & commissioning of effluent treatment
plant of
total capacity 30KL/day at RIICO, Chopanki for M/s Kamdhenu Paints. The proposed
E.T.P. shall be suitable for load ranging from +_25% of specified load to adjust the varying
pattern of flow. The effluent as per parameters given in para B shall be treated to produce
effluent of quality to reach at least a standard mentioned in same para of the specification.
The supplier shall handover the plan tin full operational condition to the satisfaction of the
Plant Engineer.
Effluent Treatment Plant
The different streams of effluent coming to the effluent treatment plant comprising of the
waste water from different areas are taken to the oil and grease chamber after passing
through M.S. shutter gate & bar screens. In the oil & grease chamber excess grease and oil
are separated .From here the effluent free of any floating debris, oil ,grease is taken into
equalisation tank for homogenisation. The equalised effluent is pumped into flash mixer and
further to a flocculation chamber. In flash mixer alum and lime are dosed for coagulation
and pH boasting respectively.

In the primary clarifier the flocks formed in the flocculator are removed and the clear
supernatant flows by gravity to an aeration chamber (1stage). The sludge is taken into the
sludge drying beds.
The stream is further taken into an aeration chamber for second stage biological oxidation.
The oxygen required for both stages is provided with the help of blowers through diffused
aeration. The effluent from the aeration chamber is taken to a gravity type secondary
clarifier. The biological sludge is separated in the secondary clarifier & recirculated into the
aeration chamber. Excess sludge is taken to the sludge separation i.e. sludge drying beds for
final decanting. The clarified treated effluent is taken into the collected pit. The treated
effluent is then passed through pressure sand filter before collection of treated effluent in
treated water tank from where it is discharged into the external drains.
Schematic process diagram is enclosed for reference.
The effluent treatment plant shall essentially include but not limited to following units:
a) Preliminary treatment unit such as mechanical bar screens, screen chamber or any other
equivalent mechanism.
b) Secondary treatment unit including aeration for removal of B.O.D. & S.S.
c) Neutralisation &settling tanks
d) Necessary Blower, stirrers, pumps &motors
e) Sludge drying beds
f) Sump pump house and appurtenant structure , if required
g) Piping diffusers and associated values including supports, valve chambers & manholes
