Thank you for your recent letter concerning your lawsuit. I appreciate your frustration
with this matter.
However, your situation involves a legal issue which falls under the jurisdiction of the
judicial system. Members of Congress are precluded from inquiring into matters pending before
the courts by provisions of the Constitution that mandate a separation of powers between the
Judicial, Executive, and Legislative branches. I am unable to intervene because my involvement
in your present situation may be viewed as an interference in the judicial process.
You may choose to contact your attorney. If you do not have an attorney and would like a
referral for one in your area, the Florida Bar Referral Service at (800) 342-8011 can provide a
referral.
If you cannot afford an attorney, the Florida Bar Referral Service can also provide you
with a referral for affordable legal assistance, or you may contact Florida Legal Services at (850)
385-7900 or visit their website at www.floridalegal.org. They offer a wide range of services for
low and moderate income individuals seeking legal assistance.
Again, thank you for getting in touch with me. I trust this matter will be resolved to your
satisfaction. If I can be of further assistance with any other matter, please do not hesitate to
