Starting up 516171802 (13) @ General informat n/Safety notes Ensure that you use the correct power corresponding to that indicated on the rating plate located on the rear of the cash register. Your cash register is a highly sophisticated machine. Never attempt to repair it yourself. If repairs are necessary, please contact your sales outlet or an authorized service center. Ensure that no metal objects, such as screwdrivers, paper clips, etc. are inserted or fall into the cash register. Doing so could cause damage to the machine and/or electric shock. Always switch the cash register off after you have finished working with it. Clean the machine with a dry cloth. Never use water or solvents, such as thinner, alcohol, etc. to clean it. To tum off the power supply completely, remove the plug from the power socket. Do not expose the batteries/accumulator battery to excessive heat. Keep the transport safety devices in a safe place. They must be reinserted for any future cash register transportation. ™@ Transport safety devices Before starting to use the cash register, please remove the transport safety devices and keep them in a safe place for future use. Close the printer cover Important transport note: In the case of damage, the machine must be repackaged in and accessories. ‘576171802 (12) Starting up lM Inserting the batteries The cash register can be equipped with a battery to ensure it remains operational and programmed data is not lost even in the event of a power failure. Data is retained for approximately 1 year. 1. Open printer cover (1) S 2, Remove the battery compartment cover (2) 3. Remove the foam parts from the battery compartment e~ 4. Insert three batteries (1.5 V) in the battery compartment, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) 5. Replace the battery compartment and printer covers, &Ss) ™@ Connection to the power supply Before connecting the cash register to the power supply, check that the data concerning the voltage and frequency indicated on the rating plate coincides with the local voltage. Safety note: The power socket should be as near the cash register as possible and easy to access. In an emergency, this enables you to disconnect the cash register from the power supply quickly. @ Inserting the paper roll 1. Remove the printer cover (1) 2. Set the Control Lock key to R 3. Push the left-hand paper support (1) outward, using the Paper roll or suitable tool and then insert the roll so that the projections (1 and 2) on the support fit into the roll 4. Guide the end of the paper into the printer mechanism and press [ai]. The receipt paper is then guided either past the tear-off edge on the printer cover or to the take- up reel . 5. Not all keys are able to provide all the functions. The standard key used for sales transactions, for example, cannot be used to delete the daily report Significance and authorization of the key positions: L = Power supply switched off All keys can be set to this position. R = Sales transactions can be registered. All keys can be set to this position. X = Reports can be printed without deleting the memory. All keys can be set to this position. Z = Reports can be printed and the memory deleted. Keys identified by OW can be set to this position. RF=Refunds can be registered. Keys identified by OW can be set to this position. This enables a customer number to be allocated, for example — Open cash drawer (option) to change money — FLAG is changed during programming (Control Lock key: X) Charge key = Credit payments are registered Check key ~ Payments made by check are registered Amount entered is subtracted from the account Sub-total key = Sub-total appears in the display ~ Program memory is opened (Control Lock key: X) Cash Payment key — Cash payments are registered ‘Sum appears in the display and cash drawer opens — Amount of change appears in the display = Grand total report is printed (Control Lock key: X) — Grand total report is printed and deleted (Control Lock key: Z) — Save programming (Control Lock key: X) 1" Programming 1617/1802 (13) In order to avoid having to repeat the same entries (fixed surcharges, discounts, etc.) they can be stored in the so called system FLAGS program segments. In addition to these entries, the date and time can also be stored. ™@ General information Note: During the programming procedure (Control Lock key: X), all entries can be corrected by pressing the [_ce_] key before saving the program with the ses] key, lm System FLAGS (basic program) ‘System FLAGS refer to the individual program locations. They can be stored individually with specified values.
