Grant Application:

Organizational Overview:
1. Heaven's Touch Ministry helps pregnant and single parenting women and their c
hildren. We assist women with: paying portions of rent, security deposits and u
tility bills. Provide clothing, furniture and household items. We help with tra
nsportation to and from appointments. Assist with continuing education and emplo
yment. Counseling is available. We help rebuild lives, restore hope and directio
n to women who seek better lives and for the lives of their children, be an asse
t to the community.
Statement Of Need/Opportunity:
2. There are many pregnant and parenting women that are in unhealthy living circ
umstances. They may not have the finances to pull themselves out of their circum
stances. We provide the opportunity and the assistance to establish a healthy an
d safe living enviorment; while supporting, nurturing and guiding. There are f
ive facilities that I know take women in and care for them. One helps 16-18 year
old, another helps 18-24 yr old, one helps families and another helps only dome
stic violence and the other helps homeless for a period of time. Heaven's Touch
helps women regardless of age or circumstances. We don't have a facility in wh
ich to house women. What we do is help these women to become independent in the
community with assistance. There is no discrimination at all. We help those we
can. This outreach in non-denominational, not faith based. There are so many w
omen we currently help, approximately 60-80 and about 120-140 children. The need
is growing. By receiving a grant, this will enable us to continue reaching thos
e who need assistance. Many women do not go on the state system because of our h
elp and guidance.
Objectives:
3. Our objectives are: Housing, Parenting, Education and Employment. Helping wo
men obtain a safe and healthy home for her and her children, learn basic life sk
ills and parenting skills, while working at creating a higher level of independa
nce. Education completion-GED or continuing education will enable them to obtain
and secure: Good, Steady Employment, which makes a great asset for the communit
y. These women rely on their skills they have been guided with and obtained, ra
ther than relying on the state system.
Program/Activities:
4. Events planned to raise funds: Hamburger/Brat Fry (several times), rummage sa
les, selling Grandma LuLu's Sand Dollar cookies, car wash, dinner/ silent auctio
n, raffles, applications for grants, We have alot of community support, monthly
sponsors. A woman donates all her wages at one of her jobs and the Community Fou
ndation of Louisville matches her wages up to $10,000 per yr.
Evaluation:
5. We have measured our progress by our successes in these women lives: Tammy,
Jean and Dana have recently graduated from Martins School of Cosmotology and hav
e jobs, not on the state system. Kelley has her own apartment, a excellent perm
anent paying job, gives back to the community and this ministry, not on the stat
e system. Tammy L is out of a very bad, unhealthy living situation now. Is raisi
ng her child, has her own appartment, great job, not on the state system. Bobbi
Jo is raising her daughter, has her own apartment (house) and a great paying job
. Casey is a 15yr old who has decided to keep her baby (pregnant) not abort it,
finish her schooling, get her diploma, a job and a place in which to raise her c
hild, These are just a few of our success stories. Our program is effective and
it works for the women and for the good of the community. We also work with oth
er community collaborations to make our services effective.
