STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

I would love to work with the Alternate Dispute Resolution Cell (ADRC) on their blog about
domestic, international, and investment arbitration. As a first-year law student, I have limited
knowledge about arbitration of any kind. However, the idea of arbitration itself peaks my interest,
which is why I want to make the best of this opportunity. I believe contributing to the blog would
help me socialize with like-minded individuals and also help me improve my writing skills. I have had
some experience with paid freelance writing projects that involved creating search engine optimized
content about various topics including cryptocurrencies, securities, and private equity. Most of this
content was aimed at international audiences based in the US and UK. I have had the honour of
receiving the Bronze Medal in the Senior Category of the Queen’s Commonwealth Essay Writing
Competition, 2017. It is organized by The Royal Commonwealth Society and happens to be the
oldest and one of the most prestigious international essay writing competitions for high school
students aged fourteen to eighteen. Some notable winners of the competition include author
Elspeth Huxley, Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Mei Fong, and the Prime Minister of Singapore Lee
Hsien Loong. I hope to have the honour of learning and growing with the community within ADRC.
