Greece is a country that is rich with ancient history and civilizations. Ancient Greece that
was born in the Aegean Sea about 4,000 years ago gave birth to western philosophies, western literature,
history, democracy as well as the Olympic games. Considering these legendary achievements of Greece
and being home to the first advanced civilizations in Europe, Greece was hailed as the birthplace of western
civilizations.

The history of Ancient Greece can be divided up into three periods which are the Archaic
Period, the Classical Period and the Hellenistic Period. During the Archaic Period, the Greece is a collection
of 1,500 territories that acted as sovereign nations which is called the city states that have different rulers
and usually fought with each other. Olympic games, Greek Alphabet, The Iliad and Odyssey are just some
of the things introduced during this period. At the end of Archaic Period, democracy is introduced in Athens
by Cleisthenes. The Classical Period is the rising of interest in arts, imagination and buildings especially in
the city-state Athens. Near the end of the Classical Period Alexander the Great rose to power conquering
much of Europe and Western Asia. The Hellenistic period begins when Alexander the Great dies. The
Ancient Greek civilization begins its decline and the Ancient Romans start to gain power.

The civilization of ancient Greece flowered thousand years ago but the ideas of the ancient
Greeks continue to influence the way we live today. Today, Greece is a paradise that is made up of a series
of tranquil islands that are surrounded by jet blue seas and covered in exquisite white buildings, and you
will also find crumbling ruins and as well as open air museums. A visit to Greece is a dream holiday of
almost every person. Greece is known for its perfect climatic conditions. The criminality rate is very low.
Greece is an English-speaking country. Greeks are famous for being warm and hospitable to tourists. Greece
is also famous for its healthy and tasty cuisines. The country is also perfect for people that loves partying,
there are islands that starts parties in the midday and last until the early hours. There are things that must
be cautious of when visiting Greece such as dressing appropriately when visiting their churches and
monasteries, avoid touching artifacts in museums and taking photos of military facilities. Extending all
fingers and presenting your palm towards a person is an insulting gesture for Greeks. You must not make
snarky comments about Greeks eating on the same plate. Greeks tend to use a lot of oil in preparing foods
so one must get used to it. There is a tension between Greece and Turkey so it advisable to avoid questions
about Turkey and avoid saying Istanbul.

Greek environment. Business relationships in Greece are built on familiarity and trust. Building strong,
long-lasting relationships is important for the Greeks. Therefore, personal contacts and networks
characterized by trust, loyalty and strong bonds facilitate business operations and are vital for successful
business deals.
