CUSTOMIZED CHARTING

Over the past year, Bloomberg’s charting product has been improved in many exciting ways. Launchpad 2010 will
help expose these new benefits so you can make smarter business decisions in a more efficient manner. Here are
a few tips to help you get started.
THE NEW TOOLBAR

Look for the Options button on the new toolbar and double arrow on the right-hand side of
a charting component. Clicking on this will expand a charting toolbar for easy editing, so you
don’t have to take your eyes off of the chart.

The inverted arrow menu on the top-left of the toolbar contains an option to share charts con-
taining studies, annotations and other edits with a user or group of users. Chart edits will be
updated when the user refreshes the chart.

Clicking on the Anno... button above will open the annotations palette (shown on the right).
Use this palette to add trend lines, channels, fibonnaci, percent change, text and more.

SCROLLING TICK CHART

GIPT <GO> is a brand new charting
function on the BLOOMBERG
PROFESSIONAL service which is most
®

powerful when used in Launchpad 2010.

GIPT tracks the last trade, bid and ask ticks
for a selected security so you can monitor
the spread between them. Type “Scrolling
Tick Chart” in the keyword search on your
toolbar to launch this application.

Choose View on the charting toolbar to insert the Legend, or select

Table View to see the tick data in a tabular format.
CUSTOM G CHARTS
Custom G charts allow for infinite analytical
flexibility. The right-click menu offers chart-
specific edit options. For instance, right-
clicking on the blue, 30-day moving average
line in this chart offers the ability to create
an alert on that moving average without
ever leaving the Launchpad 2010 view.

CHART GRID

Using a chart grid in Launchpad 2010 is the simplest way to

insert a series of equally distributed charts into your desktop
view. Use the Source field at the top of the component to
choose from a current monitor or portfolio, or double click on
the blue ticker for individual edits. The Grid Size button on
the top right offers up to thirty-six charts per grid.

Each individual chart contains a full toolbar and editing

capabilities; simply hover your cursor over the orange line
at the top of a chart to see options.

To launch this component, type Chart Grid into the Keyword

search box in your Launchpad toolbar.
MULTI-SECURITY G CHARTS

Multiple-security G charts track historical relationships between securities so you can analyze relationships
between market indices, economic statistics, equities, bonds and portfolios all in one graph. Analytical tools
also allow the comparison of economic performance, relative strength analysis, fundamental data, events,
volatility analysis, technical studies and more.

When using multi-security G charts in Launchpad 2010, use the Securities button to edit securities and
color choices. Drag and drop a security from your monitor into any panel on this chart to automatically update
the individual panel. Further editing can be done from the Chart button.
