UPDATE 7

15th OF SEPTEMBER 2018

LOECHES, MADRID

« Woman, this is your son »

John 19: 26

WE HAVE A PRESIDENT!

Today we have lived an historical event of profound transcendence for our Fraternity. Male
missionaries, female missionaries and married couple missionaries, 69 representatives from the 5
continents in search of the will of God, desiring with all our heart, to live our charism in profound
missionary communion.
We want to show our appreciation to our dear Lucia Herrerías and, of course, to the previous
presidents of our Fraternity: Isabel Fornari y Antonio Velasco, who have given part of their life in
the service of the government. It is thanks to your fidelity and care of the charism that we have
arrived to this actual moment, the first Congress without the physical presence of our founder.

In the morning, after we knew the results of the votations,

the first to be surprised with the results of the votations
was Rodrigo Carrizo himself or better known by everyone
as “Rodri”, who, in the midst of his perplexity received the
news. Immediately, the applause of thanksgiving on behalf
of the Congress members was the best way to express to
him that he is not alone, that behind his yes, is all of us.

Some moments after the election, we celebrated the Eucharist in which Rodri shared his testimony
of accepting the will of God: “It helps me a lot to discover the Congress has been bathed in the
presence of Mary, we began on the 8th of September with the feast of the birth of the Virgin and
today, the election of the President, in the celebration of Our Lady of Sorrows. Now, in the chapel
I was saying to the Virgin: “What do you want to say about being the President today on the day
of Sorrows? Will it be that the next 6 years will be full of sorrows and sufferings?” And I
understood: “Don’t worry son, what matters is that I am here, accompanying you.”

He also shared with us that his prayer from last night, previous to the day of the election,
was: “Father, you know everything, you know it all, that this cup could pass me by and
you give it to another, because there are others who are better than me; but that it not
be what I want, but what you want. Father, I want to do your will, I want to serve the
Fraternity and I want to continue this service, but if it could be in another way that would
be better.” However, I understood that the Lord was telling me: “close your eyes and
trust, only say Father let it be your will.”
At the end of this very festive day, we only want to give thanks to God for the life of our
founder, Jaime Bonet, and for his yes that has given so much life. We have the hope, that
from heaven, he moves each one of us, from wherever we are, to keep saying: “Let it be
in me according to your Word.”
