The following Grand Lodge Legislation will be discussed at our October Stated Meeting
Our three delegates to the Grand Lodge will be voting on the following legislation and would like your input. Listed
below are the items to be considered and will be discussed at our October meeting. The full text of each proposed
change will be available at the October meeting. Numbered items will be voted on. Lettered items were received
after last year’s Grand Lodge.

Items to be voted on:


1. Election to honorary membership shall be by written ballot and require 2/3 affirmative vote of members present.
It now reads the vote shall require a unanimous ballot.
2. Clarify what is required if Lodges allow Alcohol to be served in a Masonic Temple.
1. Comply with all federal, state and local laws.
2. Alcohol may not be used in any dedicated lodge room.
3. Alcohol may not be used for beverage purpose during Table Lodge Ceremony.
4. Prior to serving or allowing the use by lodge members of alcohol at a Lodge activity, held in non-dedicated
areas of the building a Lodge must;
a. Consult an attorney for a written determination of the conditions under which it can serve, use or allow
the use of alcoholic beverages to or by its members.
b. Obtain a liquor license if required.
c. Consult with insurance company and acquire appropriate insurance.
5. The Lodge membership must signify its assent to serving or use of alcohol beverages by adoption of a Lodge
Standing Resolution to that effect. Secure written permission from Temple Company.
6. Inform youth groups in writing that alcohol may be present in the building.
3. Create a Grand Lodge Membership Development Committee appointed by the Grand Master each year.
4. Add the Chairman of the Membership Committee to the Grand Lodge Advisory committee.
5. Allow a member of a Lodge that is consolidating to re-designate his Endowed Membership to another Ohio Lodge
with which he affiliates within 90 days of the consolidation date.

Allow the creation of Goose and Gridiron Lodge No. 1717
It will operate as an English style Lodge. Its members shall be restricted to Master Masons. The purpose of the Lodge
shall be to hold tyled meetings to study, appreciate, and share the customs and rituals that imbue the fraternal
experience in England. It will meet 4 times a year. Wear English style regalia. Open in the EA, FC or MM Degree.

Wow has time flown by summer is over and it is time to get back to work! HP
Boitnott has called two special convocations, 7pm Oct 23rd for the conferral of
the Mark Master and Past Master degrees, and Nov 13th at 7PM for our annual
inspection, we will be in the Most Excellent Master Degree this year. At our
Everett H. Blount - 96 September meeting the finance committee reported on the meeting held over
Raymond L. Trueblood - 88 the summer, there will be a reading and discussion of their recommendation for
Harry Stuck Jr. - 87 dues increase at the Oct 16th Stated Convocation, this subject affects both
William Berry - 84 Chapter and Council. Your attendance and input on Oct 16th, will be most
appreciated.
