CAMP COUNSELLOR/TEACHER
NYC Kids Camps | June 2017 – August 2018
During my time at NYC Kids Camps, my primary responsibility was to supervise the child
campers. I had to ensure their well-being and to maintain a positive atmosphere, making
the experience as fun, educational and rewarding as possible, whilst maintaining the
highest standards of safety. It was also imperative that we developed a bond and rapport
with each and every child and their caregivers. It was essential that I be a happy,
enthusiastic, committed, caring and motivated leader and role-model. I was also there to
learn from the founder who acted as my guide and mentor and from whom I learned
invaluable information regarding early childhood education.
Given that the camp had three sections based on age groups, I had a fantastic experience
being exposed to a wide variety of activities. I had to be flexible and both proactive and
reactive with planning and overseeing daily age-appropriate activities. Activities involved
arts and crafts, music (song and dance), nature and the outdoors, games, free creative
play as well as local trips to museums and parks. Vigilance, responsibility, creativity and
flexibility were key as I was often needed to quickly shift from comforting a younger child to
assisting an older camper in an activity to assisting a co-worker. I regularly helped clean
up after a day of camp and prepare for the next day’s activities. I also assisted in school
and birthday parties as a volunteer throughout the summer.
In addition to activities and trips, I supervised campers during snacks and meals, lead
groups from one activity to the next in an orderly manner, and supervised camper drop off
and pick up time. I ensured that the camp and any sites visited were kept clean, organized,
and free of litter with everything safely stored away whilst encouraging the campers to take
responsibility for cleaning up and maintaining a tidy classroom/space. I assisted in
maintaining accurate program records including incident reports and daily attendance. I
would enforce and follow all safety guidelines including being responsible for every
campers’ safety and their whereabouts at all times.
I gave my all each and every day and supported the children, their caregivers, my co-
workers and the camp founder to ensure another successful summer at NYC Kids Camps.
NANNY
Private Households [various. full-time and part-time roles] | February 2012 – May
2018
Since 2012, I have worked in a number of roles as a nanny/governess for various families.
I have worked with newborns to pre-teens.
My nanny duties were always focused on creating and nurturing a caring, genuine and
positive relationship with the children and working in sync with the parents to support their
child's health, happiness, educational and development needs. Using positive
reinforcement, I would place a focus on promoting good behaviour, teaching etiquette, self-
sufficiency and social skills while encouraging and building confidence.
In all of my caregiving roles, I would arrange stimulating and fun age-appropriate activities
and generally act in loco parentis by overseeing all aspects of the child/children’s life and
daily routines. My duties included preparing and supervising meals, assisting with
homework, preparing for school, accompanying them to and from school and
extracurricular classes, bathing and personal hygiene and getting ready for bedtime/rest,
etc.
In each role, I was practical and hands-on, patient, kind, caring, comforting and committed,
all while ready and willing to assist in other areas not specifically related to child-care but
imperative to ensure a smoothly run household. For example, I would assist with the
children's laundry, bedroom cleaning and kitchen and play-area cleaning and running
errands.
I have faced a variety of challenging situations including but not limited to, (i) working with
children whose first language was not English to improve the numeracy and literacy skills
of both children as well as improve their confidence with regards to speaking English and
(ii) working with a child with cerebral palsy who required an intense level physical
therapies (that I had to research and implement in a disguised manner to mask the
therapies as fun play!), and (iii) caring for three boys whose parents were in the middle of
an acrimonious divorce.
My time spent as a nanny has given me an immeasurable amount of pride and joy plus a
deep understanding and insight into the early years of childhood and liaising with parents
and teachers.

As a freelance marketing, branding and social media consultant my role is to create on-
brand, innovative and imaginative solutions to a variety of communications challenges with
a strong focus on social media and digital. I've worked across a number of b2b and b2c
accounts within a wide range of companies on a variety of campaigns - from logistics to
attractions, fin-tech to fitness - and just about every industry in-between. I also ran my own

branding and communications using a strategic, creative and commercial approach to
ensure a brand is ready for launch, a re-brand or continued and improved success. This
often involves working on integrated marketing and PR campaigns, working closely with
colleagues and external agencies to deliver multiple projects and campaigns
simultaneously and often involves remote work.
Through my varied positions so far, I have gained a wealth of experience with regards to
content and digital marketing including social media, copywriting, influencer marketing,
PPC, SEO, copy editing and more along with events, account management and the wider
marketing mix; plus, the ability to adapt to a variety of different on-brand tones of voice. I’m
able to manage my time and workloads efficiently and have strong stakeholder
management experience.
KidZania, where children aged 4 to 14 can experience the world of work through role-
modelling and role-play, is designed to inspire and empower: “from inspiration to
aspiration”. I worked in collaboration with all teams across the business to communicate a
world class offering for our customers, in particular I met regularly with Dr Ger Graus the
Global Director Of Education to discuss and learn how KidZania benefited children from an
educational perspective and how to relay this message of the blend of education and
entertainment that KidZania offered. “Children can only aspire to what they know exists”
My role was to develop and implement integrated Marketing and Publicity campaigns
utilising multiple digital platforms as well as direct marketing programs to drive profitable
sales, increase footfall and raise brand awareness. Liaising with external PR, Media, PPC
and SEO agencies & working closely with our Artworker and Graphic Designer
I was responsible for all copywriting company-wide across the full marketing mix plus copy
editing. CRM and EDM coordination from initial idea to design and delivery – resulting in a
strategy to increase customer acquisition, retention and to drive conversions
Protecting and developing the KidZania London brand ensuring consistent brand
messaging and communication throughout all internal and external communication.
Stakeholder management, networking and representing the company at internal and
external events was a key part of my role.
I reported to the Head of Marketing and supervised and managed the workload of the
Marketing Assistant.
