of Venezuelans
Due to the high numbers of Venezuelans entering Peru in recent days, the
government declared the districts of Aguas Verdes and Zarumilla in a health
emergency
The emergency request was presented by the regional government of
Tumbes and the National Institute of Civil Defense (Indeci), after seeing
"exceeded" its ability to respond to the entry of thousands of Venezuelan
citizens in the days before Saturday, August 25, when the passport
requirement to enter Peru entered into force
Income of Venezuelans to Peru fell from 3,500 to 1,250 per day after
passport requirement
The National Migration Superintendence reported that after the passport
requirement for Venezuelan citizens who wanted to enter Peru, there was a
decrease in the number of daily immigrants of that nationality and went from
3,500 to 1,250.
This was explained by the National Migration Superintendent, Eduardo
Sevilla, during his presentation before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the
Congress.
"After having maintained the pace of entry to the country of an average of
3,500 Venezuelans a day, after the passport requirement (since August 25),
this number fell to 1,250 Venezuelans a day," he added.
In that line, he commented that 80% of Venezuelan migrants entered the
country with a passport; while 20% did so with identification card, which is
"unreliable" because it is highly falsifiable.
Conclusion
The Peruvian government can control the arrival of Venezuelans to avoid
possible problems in society. But he needs regularization of Venezuelan
citizens to be quick and safe.
At the moment the number of Venezuelans does not affect our economy but
we do not know what will happen in the future.
