The students will learn the art genre of Surrealism.
The students will create a surrealism work of art using a collage of magazine images.
The students will learn how to juxtapose random images to create a surrealist narrative.

Students will be assessed based on how well they implement their understanding of the content taught to
them on the day of the lesson.

Activities/Procedures
Use the viewfinder to find an ideal landscape or solid background color
Cut it out
Pick 3-4 characters or objects to cut out
Paste the circular landscape background to the construction paper in a centered position
Paste the characters to the circular background to create a narrative

Before class I will ask the students if they can remember dreams and if they can make sense of them.
After class I will ask if they might understand dreams better if they look closer at the symbols that they
remember.
