Total Selected Load Total Design Load/RM Total Design Load TDL-with Treated FA Max. TR for Given Flow

Given
• Total Calculated Cooling load for each Office individually
indicates that the peak load is 28.9 TR (2.735 Ltr/sec). While
Calculated Load for the hall area is: 26.69 TR (2.526 Ltr/sec)
TR Equipment has been selected In order to deliver the
proper sensible and latent load of all spaces. Due to
standardization of cooling equipment such as fan coils, it is
not possible to exactly match the cooling capacity of space
with the nominal capacity of the equipment. For example, a 3
TR fan coil unit will be selected to deliver a capacity of 2.7 TR
as the lower standard size (2.5 TR) cannot be selected.
Therefore, the total nominal capacity of the equipment used
is 39 TR (3.69 Ltr/sec).

Since available Flow is: 1.462 Ltr/sec and Selected Unit

Flow is: 3.69 Ltr/sec, while our Peak Flow is: 2.526,
both are more than given flow of 1.462 Ltr/sec
So Cooling at Peak Load is:

Not Okay When compare Maximum

Since specification is showing that FA-Fresh Air Supply

Temperature is: 15’C
Run DM-Calculator will lower Total Cooling Load to:
19.05 TR (1.803 Ltr/sec)
• If Building provided FA-Fresh Air at 15’C as per specification
the total Calculated Cooling Load will decrease to 19.05 TR
(1.803 Ltr/sec).
• To ensure FA efficiency will continually monitor the supplied
fresh air condition, and response accordingly:
• If RH% increased (More Latent Load) we’ll close the Actuator
of fresh air and extract.
• If temperature of FA increases will close both also to reduce
the load.
• When offices are vacant after working hours, we’ll close the
unnecessary fresh air and exhaust to reduce total heat load.

Since Maximum Cooling Load Flow is: 1.803 Ltr/sec (If we

controlled the FA-Condition), and since available Flow is: 1.462
Ltr/sec
We can’t get the Comfort Cooling unless we manage part load
condition
So Cooling at Peak Load is:

Given
• West Zone needs 11.47 TR (1.36 Ltr/sec) at its peak around
4:00 P.M. (Assuming units are working at full capacity).
• While North Zone needs 6.08 TR (0.575 Ltr/sec) at its peak
(Knowing that north zone had the least heat load).
• While South Zone needs 4.56 TR (0.432 Ltr/sec) at its peak
around 12:00 P.M. (Knowing that north zone had the least

• It is true that the total required Flow at Peaks (2.09 Ltr/sec) is

Please Note How

Peak Load Can’t
Occur at the Same
Time in all Zones

Conclusion: That S

Peak Load at any E

moment can’t the
sum of Peaks of
all zones.
• Total Heat Load at Peak can be: 11.5 TR (West) + 3 TR (North)
+ 2.5 TR (South)= 17 TR (1.609 Ltr/sec).
• This scenario close the gap between peak and maximum
available chilled water flow of: 14.5 TR (1.462 Ltr/sec).
• Keeping the FCUs at low set point from early morning to
achieve low set point of (20-22’C) before peak time of
4:00P.M., this will ensure that we required part flow to
maintain part load.

To ensure precious flow control that can meet the

required flow to maintain the instant flow at peak
we are going to fix
Dynaimc Flow Control Valves …. As follows:
Dynamic Flow Balancing Valves
• Dynamic Flow Valve is a Intelligent Valve-IPCV
combined pressure Independent Pressure
Balancing Control Valves
independent flow limiter and
control valve. The new and
innovative range of dynamic
balancing valves operates
independently of changes in
system pressure in water-
based cooling or heating
systems.
Dynamic can operate either as
an automatic flow limiter and
control valve or, alternatively
without the actuator, simply as
an automatic flow limiter.

This will reduce flow to half

More Control:

More Okay
• To higher Delta-T of flowing chilled water at TriMex Offices,
we design our piping system to connect both Supply & Return
in Common headers to divert the limited chilled water to
where it needs more.
• Selected FCUs are design for DC-Delta-T of 16’, by cycle the
water more than 10 times facing air, also by creating more coil
resisterant.
• Utilizing the benefits of eDPCV (Electronic Pressure
Differential Control Valve) will slow the water velocity to allow
crossed air to absorbe maximum cooling with least amount of
water.

This measure will benefit both

are more than given flow of 1.462 Ltr/sec

The Challenges will be:

• How to absorb maximum cooling out of limited Water.
• How manage effectively the limited cooling load capacity.
• How to reduce the unpleasant heat load without compromise
of awesome view.
• How to reduce waste cooling in vacant zones.
• How to monitor the fresh air condition to reduce heat load.
