e-Studio 356/456 Electrical Troubleshooting

Overview
If you are experiencing symptoms such as locked up control panel, dead machine, etc, use the following
pages to isolate the problem down to a board or component. Each step builds on the previous step. If you
do not get the symptom associated with the step you are on, the problem is associated with the board or
components that were just added.

To Begin Troubleshooting
Disconnect all Connectors from the LGC (main board), SYS (system board), SLG (scanner logic board),
and ACC (power supply board) except the AC input CN410 and Main Switch CN411. Measure the
following voltage on CN418:

Pins 8, 9, 11, 12, 20 = 5.1V Pins 5 & 6 = 12V

If voltage is correct carry on to next step, if some or all voltages are not present check all fuses. If fuses
are good replace the power supply.
