PLOTTING GRAPH
(QUESTION NO.1)
1. An experiment is carried out using a ticker-timer to study the relationship between force
and acceleration, when mass of the trolley is constant. One elastic band (represent
force applied) stretched to a constant length used to pull a trolley down a runaway. The
set up of apparatus is as shown in Diagram 1.1

The ticker tape obtained is used to calculate the acceleration of the trolley. The
experiment is repeated using 2, 3, 4 and 5 identical elastic bands stretched to the
same length.
Diagram 1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5 and 1.6 shows the ticker tapes obtained is patch side-by side
on a graph paper. The ticker tape is cut into 10 ticks and the ticker-timer used is
connected to a 50 Hz a.c power supply.
