Cameras on Coppers

There is a new accessory to the Victorian police uniform
and it is capable of recording your every move.
A Body Worn Camera, about the size of an average mobile
phone, has been rolled out to frontline police officers (from
the rank of Sgt and below), in the Moorabool catchment
area, and includes police members at the Bacchus Marsh,
Ballan, Gordon, Creswick, and Daylesford stations.
The Highway Patrol in Moorabool will also be issued
with the camera.
Previously only Epping and Ballarat Victoria Police
members have been issued these new devices.
Inspector Darren Paterson (BlueConnect Program) said,
at the invitation only information session in Queensland,
with the use of a Body Worn Camera, a plea of guilty from
offenders attending court had increased by 36 per cent.
The purpose of the Body Worn Camera will be a
“gamechanger”.
“The benefits include more efficient justice outcomes
and will be a gamechanger at riots and protests,” Insp.
Paterson said.
“They are an additional tool to keep the community safe
and increases transparency.”
The American Axon product has a 153-degree arc; has
cloud based storage; has a recording time of 12-hours and
footage is protected under Freedom of Information.
At the end of 2018 it is predicted 800 BWCs will be issued
to Victorian police members; in 2019 that number is set to
rise dramatically to 11,000.
The deployment of Body Worn Cameras is part of the
State government Public Safety Package.

Special parking permits are being issued for Bacchus

Marsh’s busy Gell St car park.
Councillors decided to grant three extra permits to staff at
the opportunity shop, run by the hospital auxiliary, after
penalty notices were issued on staff vehicles not displaying
permits.
Currently, the car park consists of 154 spaces with eight
disability spaces, five 15-minute spaces and 141 two-hour
spaces.

Awareness walk

Australian women are nearly three times more likely than
men to experience violence from an intimate partner.
In an aim to bring awareness to violence against women,
Djerriwarrh Health Services will again be running the ‘Walk
with Her’ event this month.
A joint initiative, between Djerriwarrh Health Services and
a group of local women called ‘Women Making it Happen’,
aims to help drive action towards achieving gender equality
and the prevention of violence against women.
The ‘Walk with Her’ event has been running for the past
three years, but the event will make its way to Bacchus Marsh
for the first time this year.
This year also marks the first year the event will be part of
the 16-Days of Activism against gender-based violence, as
it falls on International Day for the Elimination of Violence
Against Women.
Event organiser Bernadette Duffy said the walk is named
as such, “because we need the whole community to walk
alongside women in this journey.”
“Gender equality and preventing violence against women is
everyone’s responsibility,” she said.
‘Walk with Her’ will be held at Maddingley Park on Sunday
November 25. Free activities on the day include a female
cricket exhibition match, BBQ, music, and arts activities.

Businesses can apply through council for an all-day parking
permit for one staff member and charitable organisations can
apply for up to five permits.
However, a recent increase in patrols by council officers
has resulted in an increase of penalty notices being issued
– many of which to opportunity shop workers because not
enough permits were available for their staff.
Council did not waive the opportunity shop staff fines but
agreed to the opp shop’s request for three more permits.
West Ward Councillor Tom Sullivan had concerns about
who would and who would not be eligible for more permits,
because it was not underpinned by a policy.
“How do we say, ‘you don’t get it?’ Is it going to be a free-for-
all?” he commented.
A council officer confirmed that only Gell St businesses
would be able to apply.
Meanwhile, the opp shop is also going to look at staff car-
pooling to reduce the number of car parks required.
The additional three permits are also time and day restricted,
to reduce pressure on the car park.

Sadly, it is becoming increasingly popular,
and more of a reality, for number plates to be
stolen from registered vehicles and used in
illegal activity.
Offenders are using stolen plates on stolen
or unregistered vehicles to obtain fuel by
deception at service stations and then drive
off without paying; vehicles with stolen
plates are also being used in ram raids and
police chases.
How do police and the public stop this from
occurring?
Well, prevention is better than cure, so with
the combination of Ballan Police, a local
business in Ballan and the SES, an invitation
is extended to the community to participate
in Operation Safe Plate.
Old number plate screws will be replaced
with an anti-theft screw, all for the cost of a
gold coin donation.

police said being vigilant about crime and
crime prevention is an ongoing community
concern.
“Theft resistance screws help to prevent
the theft of registration plates, a significant
crime trend in the Moorabool area,” he said.
Springfields Garage in the main street of
Ballan is behind the Operation Safe Plate
event and will open their doors this Saturday
24 November from 10am-1pm.
Local Moorabool SES volunteers will fit
the theft resistance screws to your vehicle’s
registration plates for the cost of a gold coin.
In 2004/05, 5,038 petrol drive-off offences
occurred in Victoria, that number rose to

Liam Duggan, a former St Bernard’s Primary
School student and current AFL West Coast
Eagles Premiership player, returned to the
school last week for a special visit.
The entire school was buzzing with
excitement as Liam interacted with the
students and showed off his premiership
winning medal.
Students were told Liam would be attending
and had their questions ready.

“I started playing when I was in Prep and
joined Auskick”.

“That would have to be the Grand Final.”

Debate over the future of the Wombat State
Forest is heating up, as various groups continue to
passionately rally for their cause on both sides.
A protest amassed outside Buninyong Town Hall
last Wednesday night during a Greens dinner
event with Federal Leader Richard di Natale, in a
bid to stop the Wombat State Forest hold National
Park status, which the group believes will be
detrimental to the area and its users.
Around 60 protesters attended with posters and
Eureka flags in tow.
The protest follows the Victorian Environment
Assessment Council’s (VEAC) Central West
Investigation draft report, which recommended a
combination of national, regional and conservation
parks for the Wombat and Lerderderg State Parks.
Jason Cornish, a member of the Bush Users Group
who attended the protest, said the meeting came
about from the group wanting to be heard.
“It was the perfect opportunity to basically gate
crash, because we’re getting ignored a lot,” he said.
The Bush User Group United is based on Facebook,
with members hailing from the Central Highlands
region.
The group comprises of over 11,000 hunters,
4WD users, horse riders, loggers and prospectors
– activities that could be restricted to designated
spots, or banned entirely, if the Wombat was to
become a national park.
Although the Central West Investigation fact sheet
currently reads that prospecting would be the only
recreational activity to be banned, Mr. Cornish
says the biggest issue for the group is that the area
could become a “cause for disrepair.”
“In any National Park, and it’s been proven that
this happened, feral animal populations go up…
you end up with an unmaintained [forest]…the
management system in the budget of the National
Parks Association is so much lower than the forest
system.
“You’ve also got the social and economic
[concerns], what will happen to the small towns

around those areas, when you start losing these
4WD groups etc…we’re concerned because it’s the
community,” he said.
Mr Cornish also emphasised the importance of
conversation to the group.
“We’re all about conservation, we’re all about
keeping tracks clear…a lot of us are concerned
with the bush. We don’t want to go around seeing
rubbish,” he said.
Conservation seems to be a middle ground for
both sides of the coin, as another group Wombat
Forestcare, took their concern to the beating heart
of the debate; the cool confines of the forest itself.
The group amassed on Sunday 4 November in
support of the Wombat’s potential future as a
National Park, citing the protection of endangered
species and the ban of logging as reasons for the
forest to hold National Park status.

Locals secure Cup runner

At just 21-years of age Regan Bayliss has had three

in the Melbourne Cup for local connections to finish
12th on Tuesday 6 November. In the 2017 Melbourne
Cup Nakeeta finished fifth.
Australian Thoroughbred Bloodstock, based just
outside Ballan, own 50 per cent of the 8-year old
gelding from the Iain Jardine Racing stable in Great
Britain, and shared the excitement with Dunnstown
locals, who have a part share.
Spokesperson for ATB Peter Morganti said Bayliss
rode a super race for a brave 12th and “we all got a
little excited at the 300-metre mark.”
Bayliss, in his first Melbourne Cup ride said it was a
real gallant effort by Nakeeta.
“He gave me such a beautiful ride throughout for a (L-R) Carolyn, Peter and Lisa Leonard. Nathan Duggan and Bianca Leonard enjoy the Melbourne
relaxed ride and got into a lovely rhythm. Cup at Flemington.
“The field settled well, and we had a relaxed run in
that first half of the race but coming in to the corner
we were travelling that good and I could feel him
coming into the bridle, and I thought for a second we
were going to run a top five chance,” Bayliss said.
“The horse loves this track (Flemington) and
hopefully we are back here next year.”
Morganti said the rain on the day certainly did not
hinder Nakeeta’s chances.
“It has been a long road to get to the Cup and while
many experts didn’t rate our chances, I did know one
thing - he would run the trip.
“Many of the top-rated chances had no form over
3200m,” he said.
Win, lose or draw, the owners enjoyed the day in
what was “one hell of a ride.”
ATB came close to winning the Melbourne Cup in
2016 with Heartbreak City, the gelding ran second
by ¼-length to Almandin with Kerrin McEvoy in the

Moyne shire seeks Letters to the Editor

A concerned group called Bush Users

Moyne Shire Council has requested that
other Councils, including Moorabool, join
them in lobbying the State Government to
make changes to the Victorian regulatory
and planning framework, in order to manage
the future planning and development of
wind farm transmission lines.
A recommendation to the 7 November
council meeting suggested councillors
support the request from Moyne Shire
Council to write to the Minister with Cr
Toohey moving the recommendation.
A report to the meeting stated Moyne Shire
Council had separate wind farm companies
independently construct the transmission
lines for their wind farms, which resulted
in a negative experience for Council and its
local communities.
“It should be noted that Moorabool Shire
Council have also experienced frustration
from community members as a result of
the construction of windfarm transmission
lines,” the report read.
“Unlike the wind farm planning permit,
the local authority is not the responsible
authority for the transmission line planning
permit and therefore does not have a
role in administration or enforcement of
conditions.”
As of 30 October 2018, no announcement
has been made regarding a reform for
decision making for location of wind farm
transmission lines.
Council will now write a response letter to
the Moyne Shire Council advising of their
resolution.

Recently I had my purse stolen and I got it
back due to the efforts of a number of people.
If I list them, I’m sure to leave someone out,
so I have put together the following amateur
ditty to express my thanks.
“Losing a purse can be a real curse,
But others have troubles that are often much
worse.
For me ’twas a gift that gave me a lift,
So many people were caring and swift.
I now have my purse and say it with pride,
Ballan has good people and ‘tis a great place to
abide.”
Groups United has been hard at it trying to
find out which parties after the state election
will continue to support everyone’s basic
right of access to public land. Why is this
necessary?
A group of green activists are working be-
hind the scenes to force through changes to
public land status. These include the Victo-
rian National Parks Association (VNPA), the
Wilderness Society and the Friends of the
Earth Australia who support and/or endorse
land status change which would see large
segments of Victorian Public Lands become
less accessible for the everyday person who
enjoys recreation in these areas.
Fishing is one recreational pursuit that
VNPA has in their sights. On their web-
site they state that hunting and fishing are
“existing threats” to the coastal and other
environments.

Council Clips

Council will consider a permanent road
closure of Simmons Drive in Bacchus Marsh,
after a petition was presented at the 7
November Ordinary Meeting of Council.
Containing 20-signatures, the petition was
from the residents of Simmons Drive and
asked council to consider leaving the road
closure in place halfway down Simmonds
Drive.
“The opening of the freeway entry/exit on
Halletts Way has created a lot more traffic
and we believe if Simmons Drive opens all
the way through, it will cause a lot more
traffic to our street,” the petition read.
Residents asked to have additional bollards
and signage put in place to close off the road
halfway.
However, the petition did not meet Council’s
Local Law No. 9, Meeting Procedure Local
Law, Part 6 - Clause 6.7 (d)(ii), in that the
address of every petitioner or signatory was
not clearly stated.
“An exception has been made on this
occasion to consider this petition in line with
the provisions under Meeting Procedure
Local Law No.9, Part 6 - Clause 6.7 due to
each signatory residing in Simmons Drive,
Bacchus Marsh as stated,” the report to
council stated.
Cr Tonia Dudzik moved the recommendation
that the petition containing the 20-signatures
in relation to Simmons Drive, Bacchus
Marsh be received by Council and that a
report be prepared by officers for Council’s
consideration.

The ‘Heart of the West’
has been taken for granted
for too long. Residents are
treated unfairly with succes-
sive Governments ignoring
needs for investment in local
Hospitals, Higher Education,
Employment and Transport
infrastructure. It’s difficult to
understand the reluctance
of Governments to plan and
provide for obviously needed
services when, at the same
time, land is being rezoned
to allow massive housing de-
velopments, over 6000 new
residents each year. Govern-
ments are ignoring us and
are only intent on increasing
services in Victoria’s mar-
ginal seats without reference
to true need. We deserve
much better and I believe the
only way to provide proper
infrastructure for the District
is to make the seat marginal.

Research. First job was at
Royal Melbourne Hospital for
21-years. I then moved to a
biotechnology company that
manufactures artificial arter-
ies for bypass grafts. I cur-
rently run the Neuropathology
Dept. at an Institute of Neuro-
science and Mental Health.

mayed that no other parties or
candidates were prioritising the
climate emergency as the number
one issue we collectively face, and
their climate policies fall well short
of what is needed to properly ad-

for people who want to cast a vote
to save the planet.
The one biggest issue facing the
Buninyong district (and every other
district), is the need to formally ac-
knowledge and act strongly in re-
sponse to the climate emergency.
I will push for the state government
to formally announce that we are
in a climate emergency and to
take swift and decisive action to
address it. Getting to net negative
greenhouse gas emissions with
emergency speed is going to take
a large scale mobilisation – and
your support.
Andrew Kilmartin

I’ve lived and worked in the Bun-
inyong electorate for most of my life
and like many locals I think it’s time
for change. Since 2014 Labor have
tried to destroy the CFA, cut roads
funding and rorted hundreds of
thousands of dollars from taxpay-
ers. Labor is under active investi-
gation by the fraud and extortion
squad. We can’t give them another
four years to do more damage.
The Liberals will get things back
under control. We will deliver fast
rail, slashing travel times to Mel-
bourne from Ballan and Bacchus
Marsh, upgrade Ballan Recreation
Reserve and crack down on hoons
in Maddingley. We will build a new
power station to bring bills down,
provide free books for Government
high school students and stop the
flow of new taxes and chargers
Labor has introduced. We will also
get in control of crime and invest $1
billion into fixing neglected regional
roads.

after my brother who was mentally
unwell. I have since then trained
and worked as a psychiatric nurse
both in Victoria and in the UK. My
roles have included managing the
largest nursing home in Bucking-
hamshire, England and delivering
Clinical Governance to the South
Bucks NHS Trust. I currently work
as an AOD Withdrawal Nurse for
Hepburn Health Services. I have
had leadership roles in a variety of
fields outside my career, but my in-
terests have largely centred around
agriculture and mental health.

Unlike other candidates I have
been personally active in strength-
ening community in the seat of
Buninyong for over 20-years. I have
runs on the board with Buninyong
& District Community Association,
local planning and forest conserva-
tion campaigns. I am standing for
the Greens because the time for
decisive action on Climate Change,
on public transport, on TAFE re-
form and community involvement
in planning decisions – is now.
Wind farms are already bringing
more employment to the Moora-
bool Shire. The Greens’ call for
100% renewable energy by 2030
is jobs-rich. FedUni’s renewables
training centre for technicians is
just the start. By shifting more
freight to rail on the line between
Geelong and Ballarat, costly dam-
age to roads by trucks can be
prevented.
A vote for the Greens tells the old
parties that you want them to gov-
ern for all, not just for the big end
of town.

Party - Labor
I’ve lived and worked in regional
Victoria for most of my life, so I
know first-hand how important
great local schools, healthcare
and transport are for our regions –
that’s what Labor is delivering.
When we came to government we
promised to deliver for all Victori-
ans, and that’s exactly what we’ve
done. We’ve invested $13.6 billion
in regional Victoria since coming
into office, in comparison to the
$7.2 billion invested by the previous
Liberal government.
In Moorabool, Labor will invest
$3 million to upgrade the Ballan
Rec Reserve, including a sporting
pavilion, female changerooms, and
oval extension. We’ve committed
$500,000 for the Ballan Scouts’
new hall.
The Labor Government has also
put $150,000 towards a business
case assessing the viability of turn-
ing the Fiskville CFA site into a mo-
tor sports venue.

I’m in this election as I believe
in equality for all, including non-

I will encourage an increased

lack of public education relating to

to cruel intensive animal industries
which pose health risks.
The impact of climate change on
both humans and non-humans re-
quires immediate and substantial
action. I will work towards rapidly
transforming to a carbon free infra-
structure and transform Australian
agriculture to allow reforestation by
reducing grazing.

has secured the prized sig-
nature of delisted Carlton
midfielder Nick Graham
ahead of its 100th year in
football.
Graham put pen to paper to
join his brother Brian at the
Devils den for season 2019 in
a major coup for the club.

side mid for the Northern
Blues in the VFL this year.”
“Nick is a hard worker, ex-

track.”
The 24-year old amassed 48
games in his six seasons at
the Carlton Football Club in-
cluding 10 (games) this year
averaging 16+ disposals over
his career at the top level.
Scotland spent almost two
seasons with Graham in the
twilight of his 268 game AFL
career. Only 26 players are
ahead of Scotland for total
games played with the fa-
mous navy Blues.
“Fortunately, I was able to
meet Brian Graham through
Nick at Carlton and later lure
him to Darley. He’s a star as
well, I can’t wait to see the
boys together in battle wear-
ing the black and white,”
Scotland said.
“Nick has also been ap-
pointed ‘midfield’ coach
which is a real bonus for us.
“I’ll be putting as much
time into improving and
developing the young talent
as I can.
“There’s some huge growth
potential from within this
young group on the back
of their first taste of senior
footy this year.”
Scotland too, now 38, will
be giving himself every
chance to be ready for next
year both as a player and a
coach.
“My body just let me down
this year which was really
frustrating given the injuries
we already had.
“I’m going to get myself
right and give it another
crack.”
Season 2019 for the Dev-
ils will take on extra sig-
nificance in its centurion
year, one which hasn’t been
missed by the coach.
“I’m very proud to have
the responsibility of leading
this club in its 100th season,”
Scotland said.
“Darley has been the best
club that I have been in-
volved with at any level.”
The 2017 Premiers will also
be buoyed by the return of
Matt Inglis, Leigh Spiteri
and a fully fit Jake Edwards -
all of whom fell victim to the
Devils’ wretched run with
injury in season 2018.
The Devils have lost key
ruckman Dylan Reid who
has returned to Queensland
while swingman Rhys Ellis
is likely to miss the season
with a preference to travel.
Multi Event Winners.
Bacchus Marsh Little Athletics
The Centre’s weekly meet was held on Friday evening,
due to the Region Relay Championships being held on the
Saturday.
Prior to competition getting underway, presentations from
the previous week’s Multi Event were awarded. Age group
winners were presented with trophies and 2nd and 3rd
placegetters were awarded medals. All athletes received
certificates with their final results and placing.
All athletes competed in four events for the Twilight Meet.
The cross winds proved an advantage in the 200 metre races,
with a large number of athletes recording PBs, after a quick
first hundred. The following athletes recorded 4 PBs for the
meet – Solomon Miesen, Ellie Conroy, Samuel Cuthbertson,
Sailah Wisewould, Damon Colella and Gemma Lee.
On Saturday the Bacchus Marsh Centre was represented by
29 teams at the Western Metro Region Relay Championships
held at Melton Athletics Track.
The relay squad included 51 athletes who had been partici-
pating in training sessions over the past couple of months in
preparation for the Championships. The following coaches
volunteered their time to ensure the athletes were prepared
for the day - Natalie Grero, Chris Doyle, Chris Mai, Gina
Vasquez, Kate Conroy, Chantelle Estlick, Karen Lloyd, and
Paul Miesen.
Many of the athletes competed in their first relay competi-
tion, with a number also returning year after year for this an-
nual event. The Centre is very proud of all athletes and hope
they all enjoyed their experience at this level of competition.
The Under 10 Mixed Sex B team were fortunate to gain a
medal in their 4x200m event after this race was progressed
to a straight final. A couple of disqualifications which includ-
ed our A team, saw results amended to award our B team a
Silver medal. The Under 16 mixed sex team also came away
from their 4x200m event with a Silver medal.
In the 4x100m events, the Under 10 Mixed A team redeemed
their earlier mishap and flew home to take the Gold and earn
themselves a State qualifying result. The Under 11 Mixed Sex
A team claimed a Silver medal, with a consistent run by all
4 members while the Under 16 Mixed Sex team also ran a
well-executed race to sneak into the medal placings, winning
Bronze for the team.
All teams will now anxiously await progressions for the
State Championships which should be available later in the
week.
This week’s meet will return to Saturday morning competi-
tion at Masons Lane Reserve commencing at 8.30am.

Lions On The Prowl with
Back-To-Back Wins

Former West Indian international Danza Hyatt has starred
in his debut with the Darley Lions First XI, leading the club
to an emphatic eight-wicket win over (then) third placed
Golden Point at Darley Park last Saturday.
The Calypso King smashed an unbeaten 76 off just 56 balls,
including five fours and two huge sixes to earn the unofficial
man of the match title.
It wasn’t that long ago the 35-year old was mixing it with
the world’s best on tour with his native West Indies. Hyatt
played the last of his five career T-20 internationals against
Australia back in August 2012. Household names the ilk of
David Warner, Shane Watson, the Hussey brothers and Brett
Lee were stiff opposition back then sure, but overcoming
Golden Point’s 118 run target would become the steely focus
in this present day challenge.
The Lions (9th P6 W1 L5) were taking on an in-form Golden
Point (3rd P6 W4 L2) in a must win game for the club in Game
two of the competitions T-20 phase. After winning the toss
the visitors were sent into bat and toiled their way to a com-
petitive 8/118 after their allotted 20 overs. It was arguably the
Lions’ best bowling performance of the season given their re-
turns on two fronts - economy and strike rate. The ‘bowling
group’ combined for just one wide from their 20 overs while
each of the six-pronged attack chipped in with a wicket.
Darley had Golden Point on the back foot early with two
quick wickets before the score had reached 10 - opening
bowlers Hispatha Wickramasinghe and Ben Longhurst shar-
ing the spoils. The visitors responded well with a 42-run
partnership for the third wicket before Longhurst struck
again. The Lions denied Golden Point any momentum there-
after as wickets fell at regular intervals with the score ending
in the Lions’ favour at 8/118.
In reply an in-form Lachie Herring and import Danza Hyatt
walked out to the middle and wasted no time with the run
chase. The duo put on 77 for the first wicket before Herring
(28) was bowled. Wickramasinghe (1) couldn’t emulate his
Round six dominance with the bat and lasted just three balls
to give Golden Point a slim hope.
Experienced playing coach Mike Alexander (12no) joined
Hyatt at the crease and together they would reach the target
with eight wickets in hand and eight balls to spare.
Confidence is on the march at the Lions’ den with back to
back wins and a third (win) this week looking more likely
than not as they travel to meet the winless Napoleans-Sebas-
topol this Saturday in the third and final game of the season’s
T-20 phase.

MARK Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen will send one horse
to take the TAB Inter Dominion Pacing Championship back
home, and he’s a brilliant horse in form.
Cruz Bromac will be the All Stars’ entrant into the great race
series, with the former Victorian fresh from dominating the
New Zealand Free For All at Addington on Friday.
The all-the-way win in the $200,000 feature reaffirmed the
entrant as a serious player.
“It makes sense to go with him and we think he has a real
chance,” Rasmussen told thetrots.com.au’s Michael Guerin.
“His gate speed will be a real asset and he has got better al-
most every start he has had with us.”
The lead Victorian hopes stretched their legs out at Tabcorp
Park Melton last Friday, one last hit-out before the Inter Do-
minion first night of heats back at Melton on December 1.
Trainer Andy Gath’s brilliant trotter Tornado Valley, who’s
won 13 of 15 for the Long Forest stable, kept his winning
ways going for reinswoman Kate Gath.
“He missed a little bit of work this week, but it just doesn’t
affect him, he just comes out here and gets the job done,”
Kate Gath said. “We are so lucky to have him.”
The Victorian pacing resistance is led by Shadow Sax
(trained by Emma Stewart) and San Carlo (trained by Ste-
phen O’Donoghue), who finished one and two in Friday
night’s $30,000 Group 3.
“He felt really good tonight,” said Shadow Sax reinsman
Chris Alford. “He’s a sort of deceiving horse, he just flops
along but when it’s time to go he really knuckles down, and
he sprinted up the straight really well.
“The series is probably very even this year. There is no abso-
lute stand out. A lot’s going to come down to draws and luck
in running.”
It’s a big week for the Road to ID18 with Wednesday seeing
the release of the fourth and final rankings, which will reveal
which horses get a start in this year’s series.
Thirty-six pacers and 24 trotters will be unveiled on
Wednesday at www.ID18.com.au, a select group of warriors
left standing after initial fields of 104 and 88 respectively.
It’s expected Maximan, formerly stationed at Andy Gath’s
Long Forest stable and now with Shane and Lauren Tritton
in New South Wales, will be among the number, with the
stable having made a late payment on the back of the pacer’s
exceptional form.
It’s a rags to riches story, with Maximan having been
scooped up for $20,000 in a claiming pace.
THE ID18 party will officially begin in style with the Wel-
come Cocktail Party on November 29, when participants,
affiliates, sponsors, owners and fans will soak up the first
celebration of what promises to be an epic December of trots
racing.
