B. OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of the course is to help students, develop cognizance of the importance of human
behaviour in framing human resource policies. The student would be able to describe how
people behave under different conditions and understand why people behave as they do. Based
on this understanding they would be able to predict and control human behaviour and improve
results.
Internal Assessment: Marks 100 (shall be done based on the following 5 components):
a) Case studies: Each student will have to participate in the case study discussion. The
case studies are mentioned in the course plan. Students are required to read the case
study before attending the class and the group will have to submit the written analysis
of the case as per the following guidelines. For details kindly refer section L (30%
weightage)
b) Assignments: Each student will have to submit the hard copy and upload a soft copy
of the assignment on Black Board. This project is based upon observation of principles
and concepts of OB in daily life of the students. The students would observe situations
in the classrooms, hostels, campus, within academic fraternity. Some students who
have prior working experience may also recall a situation in their previous organization.
The situations would be such that has OB implications, with clear identification of OB
variables. The students would then draft the situation in 8-15 pages and submit the
same as a project towards the 20th session. The project would be evaluated by the
faculty members with the following rubric:

1. Relevance of the situation – 12 Marks
2. Implication of OB concepts – 12 Marks
3. Articulation – 6 marks
The project would not be evaluated if the plagiarism is more than 5%. (30% weightage)
c) Presentations: The presentations topics are mentioned in the course plan. Each group
(max 5 members) is required to present its presentation as per the schedule. Each
group is required to make two presentations (one topic and one case study). For details,
please refer section L. (20% weightage).
e) Final test: Each individual shall have to appear for the final quiz. ( 10% weightage)
End-Sem examination shall be of three hours duration. The examination paper shall have
objective & theory questions, short and case.
Student has to secure minimum 45% marks of the “highest marks in the class scored by
a student in that subject (in that class/group class)” individually in both the ‘End-
Semester examination’ and ‘Total Marks’ in order to pass in that paper.
Attendance
Students are required to have minimum attendance of 75% in each subject. Students with
less than said percentage shall NOT be allowed to appear in the end semester examination.
Cell Phones and other Electronic Communication Devices: Cell phones and other
electronic communication devices (such as Blackberries/Laptops) are not permitted in
classes during Tests or the Mid/Final Examination. Such devices MUST be turned off in
the class room.
E-Mail and LMS: Each student in the class should have an e-mail id and a pass word to
access the LMS system regularly. Regularly, important information – Date of conducting
class tests, guest lectures, syndicate sessions etc. to the class will be transmitted via e-
mail/LMS. The best way to arrange meetings with us or ask specific questions is by email
and prior appointment. All the assignments preferably should be uploaded on LMS. Various
research papers/reference material will be mailed/uploaded on LMS time to time.

K. Instructions
a) All students will be divided in groups comprising of 3- 5 students in each.
b) Students are expected to read the concerned session’s contents in advance before
coming to the class.
c) The session will be made interactive through active participation from students. The
entire session will be conducted through question-answer, reflections, discussion,
current practices, examples, problem solving activities and presentations etc.
d) In the case study session, all students are expected to prepare their analysis and
answers/decisions in their respective groups.
e) All schedules/announcements must be strictly adhered to.

f) The complete syllabus would be covered for final quiz and one must be thoroughly
prepared to appear for the test and strictly appear on given time.
g) Hard copies of case analysis/Assignment will be accepted and checked only after
checking plagiarism.
h) Late entry (Max. 5 minutes from the class timing) in the class will not be allowed.
