EI artículo da a conocer la novela inédita deI historiador dei salitre Oscar Bermúdez Mirai.
Pompa Desnuda, redactada en 1930 e inscrita en 1950. cuya trama se centra en lacotidianidad
de la pampa salitrera de Antofaga ta. durante el trânsito tecnológico-productivo de de eI
sistema hanks ai Guggenheim. e e tudian las po ibilidade. de catalogar la novela de
variadas f01111as para, seguidamente. constatar la influencia de la escuela naturali ta en u
composición. Para ello se examina su argurnentaciôn, personajes, eje narrativo , siguien-
do lo sostenido por Zola en La novela experimental y los estudio o dei naturalismo en
América Latina.

ABSTRACT

This article presents the unedited novel of saltpeter historian O car Benn údez Mirai "Parn-
pa Desnuda", written in 1930 and registered in 1950, who e plot i about everyday life in
Antofagasta' s saltpeter parnpa during the technological-productive path from the Shanks
systern to the Guggenheim systern. Different possibilities to label the noveI are reviewed
so as to confirm the influence ofthe naturist chool in the writing. For this purpose. its plot,
characters, and narrative axes are analyzed, following Zola's staternents in "La oveia
Experimental" and naturalism specialists in Latin America,
