1. What is engineering?

Engineering is a type of profession in which a knowledge of mathematical theories and

scientific laws are applied and practiced with judgement to produce ways in solving problems that
can definitely benefit the mankind. Engineering work is focused on resolving an undesirable
condition through the application of technologies

However, engineering is not just only focused on improving the world by integrating and
digitizing it. Engineering as a profession aims to improve the world for the common good. The
professional education of engineers demands the acquisition of a body of specialized knowledge,
problem-solving skills and good judgement for the service of society.

2. What is technology?

Technology deals with knowledge and application of scientific theories to manufacture

objects. The purpose of this is to enhance human capabilities in doing work. The term object which
is the product of the technology is also called as hardware. But technology does not end there, the
hardware must be invented, designed and manufactured which requires a larger system including
sofware. It represents the disembodied nature of technology. For that, the term techology includes
the objects and hardwares that are made and how those things are made.

3. How does engineering and technology relate to each other?

Technology and engineering is somehow have different meanings, however their concept
works together together to achieve a certain goal which is to integrate and create something useful
for human. Engineering is focused on designing and manufacturing devices or materials. Now,
these materials are called technologies, which have the purpose of increasing our efficiency of
work also for enjoyment. Each technology created represents a designed solution for a problem
that is solved using scientific principles. Basically engineering and technology relates to each other
in terms of its goal that is to build something that can help mankind.
