To Whom It May Concern:
| had the pleasure of working with Morgan Taylor as her instructor for Education 3601 —
Curriculum and instruction for Science Majors over the Spring Semesters of 2018, In my time
working with Ms, Taylor, she demonstrated a deep capacity as both a learner and educator,
‘Throughout the course, Morgan continually achieved the highest standard, both in her
classroom work and in her practicum experience. For her practicum, Ms. Taylor worked in a
Grade 7 classroom teaching Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and Math, Ms. Taylor
demonstrated great character in working through a difficult practicum by exceeding
expectations in the classroom and building strong relationships with her students. | heard first
hand from former colleagues of the positive impact she had on her school.
Ms. Taylor had also completed an initial successful practicum teaching Math, Language Arts,
Social Studies, Art and Physical education within a Grade 2 classroom. | believe these
experiences within the educational spectrum demonstrate a wide range of content ski
classroom experience. She is currently completing her third practicum teaching outdoor
‘education to grade 9, 10 and 11 students at a Calgary high school. Ms. Taylors also
volunteering her time to coach the Junior Girls Volleyball team in her current practicum. Ms.
Taylor has shared with me her passion about building relationships with students to create
trusting environments conducive to learning. She is also passionate about a career with lifelong
learning that is challenging and rewarding.
and
| believe that Morgan Taylor will make a terrific teacher upon completion of her Education
Degree. Her passion for building relationships and demonstrating care is clear in her classroom.
This teamed with her experience at many levels of education, make Ms. Taylor a strong
candidate for employment. In my former role as an administrator | would look to hire her. It was
truly a pleasure to teach and learn with this young woman and | think she will make a strong
addition to any faculty
Sincerely,
Doug Checkley, M.Ed., B.Ed., B.Sc.
