I. Determine changes in the work environment (Objective 2)

Numerous events like globalization of the economy, telework, quality focus, downsizing,
outsourcing, and flexible workweeks are constantly changing the work environment.

Globalization of the economy: While globalization has been a feature of almost all recorded
human history, it seems to have gained significant momentum in recent years. Driven by the
fundamental forces of technology and economics, globalization has been the major trend for
the last few decades and is likely to continue for the foreseeable future, expanding its reach
and influence. While globalization creates many new jobs and very attractive choices for
consumers, it also creates some challenges as an increasingly wider range of jobs in the United
States.
Telework: Work can be perform at any place and at any time using technology
Quality focus: Organization’s effectiveness and long life depend on the production of a quality
product or service.
Downsizing: Reducing the number of full-time employees in an organization help to cut
overhead costs.
Outsourcing: Utilizing an outside company or a consultant to take over the performance of a
particular part of an organization’s business or to complete a project is a cost’ cutting
measure being used extensively today.
Workweeks: The workweek may involve flexible hours, may be compressed or involve job
sharing with another individual.

II. Describe the role and responsibilities of administrative professionals (Objective 4)

-Researching and preparing reports (using the web and traditional research methods)
complete with graphics and spreadsheets
-Assisting with the planning and direction of the company by leading TQM teams and working
on organizational teams.
-Administering computer networks
-Helping to upgrade and recommend office software
-Providing computer and software training
-Managing websites
-Working with outsourcing companies such as accounting and staffing firms.
III. Identify skills and qualities necessary for administrative professionals (Objective 5)

Skills:
Teamwork skills: ability to work well together, behaves courteously, build strong relationships,
and learn collectively with the team.
Verbal and written communication skills: express accurately, concisely and tactfully, to be a
good listener, to express accurately and concisely in written correspondence.
Analytical/critical thinking skills: critically analyze the situation and determine how it should be
handled, using a critical-thinking approach.
Technology/computer skills: must be proficient in a computer, knowledgeable about the most
current software package, competent in using telecommunications equipment.
Competent in using printers/copiers,
Leadership skills: being an effective supervisor, one who is able to inspire people to produce
at their maximum.
Time, stress, and organizational management skill: able to organize time, able to effectively
handle stress, be able to establish priorities, determining what needs to be done first, organize
workstations and files

Qualities:
Openness to change, creativity, dependability, confidentiality, integrity, initiative/motivation
and flexibility.
Openness to change: accepting and preparing for change and being creative and flexible.
Creativity: ability to approach existing ideas in new ways.
Dependability: being trustworthy. It means being at work on time, willingness to put in
additional time on important assignments.
Confidentiality: always maintain the confidentiality (secrecy) of the information receives or the
confidences shared.
Integrity: adherence to a strict ethical code. Honesty, don’t take equipment or supplies that
belong to the company for personal use, to spend the time on the job performing the duties of
the job.
Initiative/motivation: ability to begin and follow through on a plan or task, having the ability to
set appropriate work goals, to analyze a task, to establish priorities.
Motivation: incentive to act.
Flexibility/adaptability: being responsible to change and being capable to adjusting.

What are your roles and responsibilities?


To organize events, to answer correspondence, to send letters, to organize meetings, to take
notes, to attend people, to plan trips for the leaders of the company.

What skills and qualities do you need in order to be successful?


Leadership, to follow the vision of the company, to be responsible, willing to cooperate,
organized, trustful, competent, well presented, verbal and written skills, computer skills, be
willing to constantly renewing.

What types of technology changes have occurred in your office in the last five years? Two
years?
The company included streaming, chats on live, meetings online for employees, classes online.
Describe the diversity of personnel within your organization. Have there been any issues in
dealing with this diversity? If so, what were those issues and how were they handled?
At the company there is diversity of personal, but have not been issues dealing with this
diversity.

What are your roles and responsibilities?


To make sure that all plans and purposes of the company have a successful result.

What skills and qualities do you need in order to be successful?


Leadership, constantly renewing, honesty, confidentiality, commitment

What types of technology changes have occurred in your office in the last five years? Two
years?

• Evolution from windows media to flash to HTML5


• Replacing MP3 format and VP6 for AAS and H264
• Evolution of encoders using single processors to multicore technology

Describe the diversity of personnel within your organization. Have there been any issues in
dealing with this diversity? If so, what were those issues and how were they handled?
One of our core values is diversity, so, our leadership encourages us to relate with people from
different backgrounds, it is mandatory for any leader on the organization to recruit and work
with a diverse team.
