Activity
Students will break into small groups and create a
prezi to be shared with the class that discusses the
political, economic, and religious characteristics of
one of the three regions of the original colonies, New
England, Middle, and Southern Colonies as well as the
impact of indentured servitude and slavery on the
colonies. By creating and sharing knowledge
collectively, students will develop a more
comprehensive understanding.

Before you submit, delete the explanatory text

1. log onto Prezi.com
2. Select “Get started in the upper right-hand corner
and then select “Basic” in the middle right of the
page.
3. Create an account using your school email.
4. Once your account is set up, select “new
presentation”
5. Select a theme that you like best. You can select a
theme and explore is using the arrows that appear
once it’s been selected. Once you’re ready select the
template.
6. Take some time to explore the templete you’ve
chosen. Click and drag to rearrange topics and
subtopics (the text box looking things)
7. The prezi must include the following:
A map of the colonies you will be presenting (See step
8 for details on how to find pictures.)

etc), and
an explanation of how indentured servitude and
slavery impacted the colonies.
8. How to find pictures. Go to google search images as
you normally would. Find the tab that says “Any
Domain” and change it to “Public Domain” then look
for any pictures you need.
9. Once you’re done with your prezi, select the
“share” Tab in the upper right hand corner and select
“create new link” Enter our USVA class in the box and
press “create link” and copy the link. This will take
you directly to the prezi when it is time for your group
to present.
