Lesson Plan for Teaching via centers/groups

Learning Outcome (ADEC code and words): K2SGD1-Maniplate, identify and sort familiar 2D and 3D shapes in
exploration and play and recognize them in everyday contexts.

-student’s will be able to know the 2D and 3D shapes.

Opening (warmer activity + teacher introduction/demonstration of small group activities)


First, I will say ‘’ Good morning everyone, today we will learning together the 2D and 3D shapes and do some
interesting activates, so I will show learners different 3D shapes and 2D pictures on the board with some real
objects and ask them ‘’ what is this shape’’ such as, that is cylinder and I will say good job .Also, keep them
repeat with me name of the shapes to understand more about the different between 2D and 3D shapes , after
that I will put educational music about 2D and 3D shapes from YouTube channel (the singing walrus-English

I will play a small activity on the mat with whole class by using flash cards and give everyone tiny cards and
each card has clips with different shapes and I will say ‘’ I have a rectangle who has circle then if child have
circle should put it up. After that, I will introduce the four activities about 2D and 3D shapes and separate the

students into 4 group according to their levels. Moreover, I will move around the table if someone need help
and ask them ‘’what you are doing’’.
Independent Experience (small group activity 1)
-Explain the first activity for low level of learners which is create party cone by using yellow paper and cut face
shape such as, eyes and mouth and paste on party cap to made it through emoji shape and learners should
write cone on party cone by follow the dots.

-will work on the activity given.


Independent Experience (small group activity 2)
I will explain the second activity for high level which is sorting 2D and 3D shapes in the suitable table. For
example, Shamma cut every shape then try to put it in the table by asking her self ‘’ Are these shapes 2D or
3D?’’

-will begin working in the activity.


Independent Experience (small group activity 3)
I will explain the third activity for middle level of students which is forming 2D shapes using colored sticks and
papers with different shapes with different colors then children should choose the shape and suitable color
and try to make shape by colored sticks. For example, Ali choose square from the papers then get blue stick
same color as the shape he selected and create square by use blue sticks.

-will work in the activity as directions.

Independent Experience (small group activity 4)


I will explain the fourth activity for very low level which is forming 2D shapes using shaving cream therefore I
will give them different 2D shapes and they have to drawing the same shape on the cream such as, Aisha
choose rectangle then she tries to draw it on the shaving cream.

I will tell them ‘’ what you did learn through this activity’’ and show them different shapes and ask them’’
Assessment

-answer question during lesson at the end.


-keep learners repeating together the different shapes by showing them 2D and 3D shapes.

-give them homework match the shape with real shape such as, cylinder with ball, cube with dice and cone with party
cone.
