Truly, it was the best experience of

Couture musings…
“When I went to the Georges Hobeika
store, all the dresses were so beautiful. I
instantly fell in love with two dresses and
I could not pick just one. One of the
dresses is what I am wearing to the event
and I am so excited. When I was sent the
images of dresses, I instantly knew what
I liked. But, it became much harder at
the store because they had given me so
many more options and they were all so
beautiful. Having my mother, Payal, as a
jewellery designer for the Le Bal for the
past two years, the jewellery was easy
to pick. And, it was so special to wear
her jewellery at the photoshoot. I am so
excited to wear it for the actual event – I
could not be more proud of her.”

Paris je’taime…
“I love Paris because it is the hub of
fashion and art. It has so much history
and the tone of the city is very romantic.
Paris has always been a place where
I love to go to because of the fashion
and food.”

Which moments are you most

looking forward to?
“I am looking forward to the whole
experience because of what it stands
for – fashion and compassion, which
is what I would like to pursue in
the future.”

What’s on your bucket list

for 2019?
“My bucket list for 2019 has me going
to the university, help with as many
organisations as possible, help my
mother with her jewellery label, learn
more about the family business and travel
to many new countries that I have never
been to before.” H

N: “One fashion trend I am looking to embrace would be the
colour beige – I think it looks great in every garment, especially in
suits, which are making a marked comeback. I love that we are now
embracing long dramatic earrings as I am an accessory junkie.”

Beauty trends that you are looking to wear this Fall...

N: “I have a very soft face so I like to keep my make-up at a
minimum. I don’t often opt for very dramatic make-up because
it doesn’t suit me. Nude lips, clean eyes, fresh cheeks are my classic
beauty statement regardless of trends. I wear Armani luminous

A: “It’s exciting to see how customers are now open to
experimentation. The Indian consumer is now more dynamic,
moving away from the regular choices for their special occasions.

N: “I think the most interesting part about the changing face of
Indian fashion is the number of young emeerging designers who
have a great vision and strong voices. As an actor, these designers
help me express my own unique style and ‘look.’ Street fashion is
getting the attention it deserves at last.”

A stand out memory…

A: “I utilised my memories at weddings, which I experienced as a

Story’. I remembered details like clinking glass bangles and giggling
girlfriends teasing the bride. A memory that stands out, and makes
me emotional – the soft, happy tears of a mother that she gently
wiped off on a glittering, goldwork pallu. The beautiful décor also
used to hold much allure for me and I’d often dream about creating
such set-ups and dressing the entire family.”
N: “My best friend’s wedding, two years ago in Goa, stands out
in my memory. I was her wedding planner, even though, I didn’t
know much about planning a wedding! (laughs)
It was wonderful being so closely involved in every detail of the
celebrations for someone I care about so much – from her wedding
trousseau to interacting with the guests in one of my favourite (and
most beautiful) destinations. The entire experience was very special
and memorable.”

On the journey ahead…

A: “As the brand consistently grows, I am also expanding my team

targeting certain cities in the southern parts of the country. With
