Sample Project APS
Introduction
1 Introduction
The AVEVA Everything 3D™ 2.1 sample project (APS) is intended to provide examples of
the various disciplines and functionality available within the product.
APS provides examples of how a designer would create the different discipline elements
within a plant.
APS is not intended as a template to provide detailed engineering solutions to specific
problems.
1.1 Assumptions
The Sample Project APS has been written for users familiar with design practices, who may
or may not have prior knowledge of the application.
It is assumed that:
• Users have a valid licence and the software has been installed.
• Users know how to launch the application.

Area 01
Area 01 has both 3D and 2D data available, with Diagrams complimenting the data set.
Area 01 is predominantly a process area, with Equipment, Piping, Structural, Supports, Civil
and Cabling disciplines used to complete a plant layout.
The Piping has been completed in accordance with the supplied P&ID's. Pipe support
examples are used across Area 01. Stairs, Ladders and Handrails (SLH) components are
present in the design.

Area 02
Area 02 has more emphasis on buildings and includes HVAC and Civil aspects of design.
Area 02 also includes a workshop building which has a firewater piping system modelled.

Area 03
Area 03 is similar to Area01 but contains a number of pipes utilising a layout specification,
which are ideal for initially laying out a plant.
It represents a plant in an earlier phase of design and includes, for example, equipment,
piping, structures and cable tray in a more preliminary layout stage.

Area 07
Area 07 is a stockpile area providing storage and supply to the secondary crushing area. It
is connected by belt conveyor to the secondary crushing building.
The plant layout in all areas was achieved using conveyor and standard mining equipment
functions within the Mining module. The Equipment and Structural modules were also used
to complete the model.

Terrain
The Mining data found in Areas 05, 06 and 07 lies upon Terrain model data (TerrainA/
DEF01/MOD01). The Terrain data is complete with defined Contours (Major and Minor) and
is split by a cell structure associated to a Reference Grid (TERRAIN-GRID). The Terrain
model is formed from (and referenced to) the supplied Terrain Definition (TerrainA/DEF01)
and Terrain Surface (TerrainA) found below the Terrain World TERRAIN-WORLD01.
