I believe there is probable cause to charge the defendant with these charges because:
On 01/23/18 at 0351 hours I conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle (vin #1G6KD54Y73U267047) that did not have
a license plate. The vehicle was a Cadillac Deville. The driver was identified as Yutana Ekachinda. I explained to
Yutana that I initiated a traffic stop due to the fact that his vehicle was running and on the roadway and that
there was no license plate. Upon speaking to Yutana, I discovered that there was an improper temporary
registration for a Nissan Vehicle. Also, the vin number on the vehicle was being covered with a piece of paper.
Yutana stated that the car belonged to an Arlene, but did not know her last name. I asked Yutana to exit the
vehicle, placed him in handcuffs, searched his person and put him in my patrol vehicle. I read Yutana his Mirana
Rights, but he refused to speak and stated he would like to speak with an attorney. I also identified Yutana’s
passenger in the vehicle, Cassandra Welch. My reason for identifying Cassandra is that she did not have a
seatbelt on. I asked Cassandra if there was anything inside the vehicle that was hers. Cassandra said she had a
bag that was hers. I asked her if there was anything illegal on her or her person and she stated that she had a
marijuana grinder in her bag. Cassandra also initially gave me permission to search her person. I located the
marijuana grinder inside her bag along with Law Enforcement OC spray. I then searched the rest of the vehicle. I
located a black backpack in the backseat that had several illegal items. One of the items inside the bag was a
prescription pill bottle with Yutana’s name on it. The other items inside the bag were as follows: marijuana that
was vacuum sealed, methamphetamine, drug baggies, paraphernalia, a firearm with rounds in the magazine,
and multiple Alprazolam pills. The marijuana was packaged in a way that is consistent with someone who
distributes drugs. Again, there were multiple baggies, multiple other drugs, vacuum sealed marijuana packages,
and Yutana had approximately $1000.00 cash in large bills on his person. The Alprazolam pills were identified
via drugs.com. The marijuana and methamphetamine were field tested and showed as positive.The temporary
tag on the vehicle, BN26787 was listed as stolen. A .380 caliber hand gun was also located in Yutana's
backpack. The gun had a loaded magazine in it. Yutana is a restricted person due to felony convictions.
