A footbridge (also called a pedestrian bridge, pedestrian overpass,

or pedestrian overcrossing) is a bridge designed for pedestrians
and in some cases cyclists, animal traffic, and horse riders, instead
of vehicular traffic. Footbridges complement the landscape and
can be used decoratively to visually link two distinct areas or to
signal a transaction.

STRUCTURAL CONCEPT
Based on the location provided, the bridge should 30 meter long
without any column between the footbridge and at the end of the
bridge. The support of the footbridge should be strong at the end
because they hold the total loading on the footbridge by themselves
without transferring the load to the column. The support should use
fixed or pinned support to make it more sustained. The roller support
should not be used because the bridge will move due to the lateral
force from the wind because the location to proposed this footbridge
located about 4.5 meter height from the road pavement surface in
front of the Engineering Complex and the Melati College.

ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
The architecture concept is based on Hausbergen Footbridge where it
has a square shape and ours with a uniform interval, 3 meters. Although
it was designed not to be open walkway bridge, all the trusses already
considered to allow good ventilation happen. In this context, the
investigation into the natural ventilation of the bridge provides information
and data that affect architectural design through various parameters.
