INTRODUCTION
ARM TwinTrip +GPS Yoda Rallying version 4 WRC (ARM-TTYv4) is one of the best co-driving tools available
for serious rally co-drivers. This device was designed, developed and tested by active rally co-drivers in various
fields, and continuously improved by feedbacks from those hard-core users..
We hope this tool will change your rallying and turn your potential to performance. Enjoy!
FUNCTIONALITIES
While keeping all the main functionalities of the previous version (version 2.1), the device received major updates,
including smaller body shell and USB –based power input for even easier installation and deployment.

FITTING TO A VEHICLE
Device installation is as easy as it can be – basically it does not require any wired connection to vehicle. You
prepare mobile USB battery and connect it to the device with a USB cable (type B connector is required for the
device end) and the installation is pretty much done. Speed and travel distance are measured with its built-in GPS
receiver, thus no cable connection to the vehicle’s ECU required to function. If you prefer to connect it to a
vehicle’s battery instead of a mobile battery, you might want to prepare 12V-5V converter with USB connector
available in the market.
For physical fitting to a rally/recce car, it is recommended to use RAM mount system – the device can be equipped
with RAM B Size 1” Ball on its back, so you can use their B size options for fitting (for example, RAM-B-108BU
for the vehicle’s roll cage, and RAM-B-201U-C to connect it to the device). For recce car, you might want to use
RAM-B-224-1U Suction Cup Base to stick it to the car’s windshield instead of RAM-B-108BU).

change the value with ⑤△ and ⑥▽ buttons, and you will see the current time shown at the top
display gets changed along with your timezone changes. In case if your timezone require additional
30 min setting (for example, Indian Standard Time is UTC+5:30), press and hold the ⑧UTC button.
You may notice a dot appears next to the offset figure (meaning 30 min is added to the offset) and
your top display now shows the time with additional 30min offset.
Once the adjustment is finished, you fix it by pushing the ⑨SET/CLB button. This setting will be
preserved even after the device is turned off.
Calibration
When you find there is a gap between the distance shown in the road book and the one this device
shows, you can calibrate the device to match with the road book. The calibration parameter can be
obtained with the following formula:
Calibration parameter = distance figure shown by this device / distance shown in the road book
For example, suppose your road book shows a distance between a box to the next box is 2.00km,
while your ARM-TTYv4 shows 2.15km. Your calibration parameter is 2.15 / 2.00 = 1.075.
In order to configure the calibration parameter, please follow the steps below:
1. Press and hold the ⑨SET/CLB button. The middle multi-functional display shows “CA”,
indicating you are now in calibration mode.
Brightness
Brightness of the LED display can be adjusted to your preference. Press and hold ⑦ button to
bring the brightness setup mode in the middle multi-functional display.
Here you can change the brightness level with ⑤△ and ⑥▽ (larger figure for brighter setup).
When completed, simply push the ⑨SET/CLB button.
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
NOTE: Brightness significantly impacts power consumption of the device. For example, ILL 2
consumes 40% more power than ILL2 setting.
During the operation you will need to enter value and numbers to the device and this procedure is common
among the different functionalities.
1. Press ⑨SET/CLB button when a middle (multi-function) display is showing the functionality you want
to access (when changing distance value (for example, giving values for tripmeters and countdown
tripmeter), please use ⑥▽ button instead of ⑨SET/CLB).
2. A digit in the middle LED starts to blink. Now you are in edit mode.
3. Select the figure to configure for that digit, with ⑤△ (increase) or ⑥▽ (decrease) buttons.
4. When finished, press either ⑦ ◀ (increase) or ⑧ ▶ (decrease) buttons to move to next digit
5. Repeat the same until you finish setting all the digits
6. Press ⑨SET/CLB to save and exit to display mode.
BASIC OPERATIONS
Countdown Tripmeter
With this functionality, you can see how many kilometers are left until your target destination (next TC, for
example), from the location where you set the total distance to it.
You can bring this function by clicking either ⑦ ◀ or ⑧ ▶ button several times until you see -0.00 on the
middle LED.

Configuring Distance
Please refer to the “HOW TO ENTER NUMBERS AND VALUES” section to pre-set the distance.
Operation
Once the distance is set, it is automatic. The countdown tripmeter automatically shows remaining distance as a
car goes.
The above means your car is heading to 182 degrees (south), with the speed of 60km/h.
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
Following the instruction shown in “HOT TO ENTER NUMBERS AND VALUES” section, enter the average
speed value shown in your road book.
. Starting a Stage
Within 1 min to your start time at the Stage Start control, press ④STAGE button. All the digits’ dot at the top
LED are lit, and middle LED shows “d” and begins to count down for your start.
Sharp at the 00 seconds of the next minutes (i.e. your start time), Special Stage mode gets deployed and starts
measuring your stage time. The middle multi-functional display automatically changes its mode to Sub Tripmeter
mode.
Finishing a Stage
Click on the ④“STAGE” button at the Flying Finish line. The stage time measurement completes and shows
Page 11 of 19
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
your time at the top of the three LEDs (where current time is usually displayed) in blinking manner.
Take a note of this time if necessary, to compare it with the time recorded by the timing marshal at the STOP
control point.
NOTE: At this point, the main tripmeter automatically gets reset to 0.
At a STOP Control
Press ④STAGE button again. Now the top LED shows current time again. Now the system is automatically
changed to ROAD Section mode for your navigation to the next TC.

the average speed given by the road book, this mode shows how early/late you will be arriving at the next TC.
For example, if the screen shows the below:
You will be arriving at the next TC with 48 seconds to spare before your reporting time. Or, if your screen shows
something like:
You are behind the schedule, and it is likely you will be late for your reporting time to the next TC by 5 minutes
and 24 seconds.
Remaining Time
Pushing ⑦ ◀ button once will bring you Remaining Time display mode. This mode simply tells you exact
minutes/seconds you have until your assigned reporting time to the next TC. The following sample shows you
have 7 min and 59 seconds to your reporting time.
Countdown Tripmeter
When you give initial distance figure in this mode, this function will deduct “the travelled distance” from it and
show the remaining figure. For example, if you set 20.00 at first and your vehicle travels 5.12km, the countdown
tripmeter shows 14.88 and keep decreasing the figure as your vehicle goes by.
This is useful when you want to know the remaining distance to your next TC. Your road book (and rally
itinerary) should show the distance between a start of a stage to the next TC, so if you give that figure to the
countdown tripmeter at the start of a stage, you can always check how many kilometers are left to the next TC.
In order to set a figure, switch the multi-function display to this mode (can be identified easily with “-“ sign at
the very left of the display”) and press and hold ⑤△ button till a digit start blinking. Once you are in that edit
mode, follow the instruction in the “HOT TO ENTER NUMBERS AND VALUES” to configure the value.

your road book when navigating to the next TC, while keep the sub-tripmeter running to measure the total
distance as a backup.
You can also give them a certain figure and let it start adding the actual travelled distance to that figure. For
example, if you configure your main tripmeter 12.34km, the system will start measuring the distance from that
point, like 12.35, 12.36… You can do the same with the sub tripmeter. To configure the main tripmeter, press and
hold ⑥▽ button until a digit in the bottom display start blinking, and give figure digit by digit, following the
explanation in the “HOT TO ENTER NUMBERS AND VALUES” section. For sub tripmeter you can do the
same with pressing and holding ⑤△ button while the sub tripmeter is shown in the middle display.
Real-life scenario
Here we will go through the actual rally scenario to review how we can use this device.
Information to enter
ST: Start Time (TC check-in time)
AVE : Average Speed
TT: Target Time
(Distance to the next TC)
Let’s assume you are given TC0 start time at 8:00am in the rally’s Start List, and the distance is 41.51km,
average speed is 62.27lm and the Target Time of 40min are given by your road book.
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
Upon activating the road mode, you enter 8:00 as your Start Time, and then 62.27 for Average Speed, and then
40 for the Target Time.
The device now shows “d”, giving you countdown for your reporting time to TC0.
If you like to enter the remaining distance to your countdown tripmeter, switch to that mode (the one showing
-0.0 in the middle multi-functional display), and give it 41.51, and move back to “d” mode.
Upon checking-in the TC0 and receiving your timecard with the required field filled, let’s head to the TC1
following with your road book.
On the way, you reset the main tripmeter as you proceed to each steps of the tulip diagrams, while monitoring “d”
figure to make sure you will not be late for the next TC.
At a TC preceding to a SS start
Now you arrived in front of the TC1 with minutes to spare, waiting for your assigned check-in time. You can
have the “d” function keep counting till your reporting time, but probably you do not really need it. So let’s
prepare for the SS1. Prior to the SS start control, you give the device the average speed, and target time. Distance
to the next TC is optional. Now the device is ready for the stage.
Information to enter
AVE : Average Speed
TT: Target Time
(Distance to the next TC)
At a SS start
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
Now you arrived at a SS start, and it is less than 1 minute for your start time. Press the STAGE button. The
device will show “d”, counting down for your start. You may also notice the upper (clock) display shows dots
after every figure, and that means you are Stage Mode is now activated.
Sharp at the next minute (i.e. your assigned start time) the device will automatically start measuring the lapsed
time as well as traveled distance. Both the main and sub tripmeters are reset to zero, and the middle
multi-function display is changed to sub tripmeter..
NOTE: While the ARM-TT ‘s clock is kept adjusted to GPS and accurate, there may be a gap between the
official clock of the rally and the device. Please always follow the rally’s official clock.
Upon starting the stage, the device will show your current lapsed time at the top LED display. The main/sub
tripmeter is automatically reset to zero and starts measuring the travel distance from the start.
Aborting Start
For some reason, start marshal may give you instruction to abort your start and give you new start time. Or, you
may mistakenly push the start button and want to cancel. In such a case, simply press the STAGE button once
again (before the start time initially given). You can simply press the STAGE button within 1 minute before your
new start time for actual start.
At a Flying Finish
Press the STAGE button to finish the time measurement. Your stage time is now shown at the top display. The
system automatically resets the main tripmeter to zero.
ARM Twin Trip + GPS Yoda Rallying version 5.0 – Owner’s Manual
At a STOP control
Take note of the stage time shown on the top LED display, and press STAGE button. The device automatically
changes itself to the Road Section mode.
You can repeat the above scenario till the end of the rally. You may notice that you can follow the TC0-TC1
procedure when you are leaving the Service Out TC towards the next TC.
