1. Review the story of ‘Train’ from lesson 65 by showing pupils the book cover and asking
them to tell you what they remember. e.g. the characters, the storyline
I. PRE-LESSON
2. Use the front cover to elicit as much information as possible, including the name of the
author and where the book comes from.

1. Activity 1:
Re-read the story. Pupils listen and follow. Ask questions orally to check comprehension of
the story.
2. Activity 2:
II. LESSON DEVELOPMENT Organise pupils into pairs. Distribute worksheets. Make sure pupils know what to do.
Pupils number the pictures according to the storyline. Check with the class.
3. Activity 3:
Demonstrate the activity. Distribute mask templates to pupils. Each group will receive
different mask templates based on the characters in the story. Monitor and help as and
when necessary.

1. Put pupils in groups of four.


2. Pupils each take a role of one of the characters.
III. POST LESSON 3. Play the recording. Pupils repeat in role.
4. Pupils practise the role play in groups.
5. Volunteer groups role play for the class.
