SCENARIO
“Video Bank” a community arts project requires “You Tube” style presentations on elements of art history.
You must act as the presenter, editor, camera man, writer, researcher and artist. You will have to record a 5
minute presentation on your chosen art movement.
The videos may have music, effects, and must include examples of artist’s work and some of your own paintings
drawings and notes.
The final movie should be presented on a CD with a front cover design and a simple booklet with a transcription
of the video content.
All the videos will be used as a resource bank for students of all ages 9-16
Videos have to be eye catching, dynamic and the content clear and concise.

TASK 1: Timeline Research. Due:20/09/10

Find and download a timeline of art. Research the work of some of the artists on the timeline and print
out pictures of art that interests you. Keep all of the information and images in a sketchbook or
folder. Start to highlight areas of interest within the text. It is important to record where all of your
information and image have come from: Websites books magazines etc. These will go in a
bibliography at the back of your final product.

TASK 2: Video research. Due: 27/09/10

Look at how other people have created videos about their favourite artists or art movement.
Make written notes about camera angles, music, lighting and content.
Produce a rough storyboard showing possible ways of presenting ideas. Think about music and
content.

TASK 3: Drawing and Painting. Due:11/10/10

Produce 2 paintings and drawings in the style of your chosen artist/s and label the work clearly
drawing attention to techniques and material and subject mater. This will help you analyse their work
and may be used as a discussion piece in you video.

TASK 4: Write and record. Due:25/10/10

(a) Write your script, make props etc and film your movie. Add music and sound effects where
relevant.
(b) Produce a front cover design for your CD and a booklet including all of the information in your
video.
