a.) Name the basic shapes

b.) Define the basic characteristics of each shape
c.) Identify the shapes seen on their environment

II. Subject Matter

Topic: The Basic Shapes (Circle, triangle and square)

Reference: Mathematics for young children (based on the k-12 curriculum)

Materials: Laptop, Power point, pictures, ball, box and worksheets

Values: Appreciate the shapes around their environment

III. Procedure

Teacher’s Activity Student’s Activity

A. Learning Activity

“very good!”

“now lets go to the next shape triangle”

“triangle has three sides.”

“I’ll show you some picture of things you see

in your environment that is triangle in shape”
“now, can you give me some examples of (the children will give examples)
things that are triangle in shape”

“okay kids very good!”

“the last that I will dicuss is square.”

“I have here a box.”

(the teacher will let the children examine the

box)

“This box is an example of a square because it

has four equal sides.”

“I have here pictures for more examples of

square”

(the teacher will show some pictures)

(the children will give examples)
