Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time

A few notes about the Masses for the Saturday Vigil and Sunday… The readings and prayers this
weekend are for the Fourth Sunday of Ordinary Time. Since February 3 is traditionally the Feast
of St. Blaise, we will do the Blessing of the Throats after all of the Masses. The band will not be
at the 7pm Mass on Sunday, February 3. We will have that 7pm Mass as usual, but without
music.

The overwhelming majority of people who visit the Shrine have a great experience. Truly, the
nicest part of my job is the constant drumbeat of incredibly positive, meaningful experiences
people describe having had here, either of Church, or of our social services. Because we have a
huge number of visitors, there is the occasional incident or negative experience. I encourage you
to report those events. We can’t correct things that we don’t know about. Recording exactly when
the incident occurred is important. Each incident is usually quite unique and requires a unique,
thoughtful response. Prompt reporting is better than delayed reporting. The best way to reach me
is via email at tconway@stanthonyshrine.org, but I can also be reached at 617-542-6440, ext 131.

May God bless you in the week ahead.
