What is Human Resource Planning?
The process of anticipating and carrying out the
movement of people into, within and out of
organization.
Human Resource Planning (HRP) is done to achieve
the optimum use of human resource and to have
correct number and types of employees needed to
meet organizational needs.
In the light of organization’s objectives, corporate and
business level strategies, HRP is the process of
analyzing an organization’s human resource needs
and developing plans, policies and systems to meet
those needs.

HRP and Corporate Strategy
HRP is a framework that ties human resource
decisions to organization’s strategic plan.
How?
HRP provides with a framework for making staffing
decisions based on an organization’s mission,
strategic plan, budgetary resources and a set of
desired workforce competencies.
In case of international expansion strategy, HRP
should be able to manage the problems regarding
hiring foreign nationals, reassignment of home
country employees, culture, linguistic, international
relocation…etc.
Through corporate strategies organizations identify
their short run and long run employees needs.
