5 TBVS90A limit of application

The following conditions are valid for the TBVS90A
• Operation temperature of the hydraulic medium: +40° to +60 °C
• Ambient temperature: +25°C to +60°C
• Design pressure (nominal pressure): 42 bar
• Operation pressure: 40 bar
• Hydraulic medium: Lube oil or HFD-R (fire resistant fluid)
• Life time: 30 years

6 Beschreibung
The 2-out-of-3 tripblock TBVS90A with sequence valve is acc. to IEC61511/61508 suitable for
using in a safety related system up to SIL 3 level (tested by TÜV Rheinland).
The TBVS90A acts as interface between the elektronic and hydraulic safety system of the and
constist out of the TBOS90A and the sequence valve.

The trip signal lead 3-channelled and de-energise to trip to the trip valves. Die 2-out-of-3 voting

is realised in the hydraulic part of the TBOS90A and allow an easy testing of the system.
The sequence valve consists out the a slider and a parallel installed discharge amplifier as plate
valve type. The slider has four positions/functions:

• Position trip: The slider separates in this position the pumps from the safety system. Start-up
(reset) is just possible only in this state.

• Position filling the pipe system: In order to avoid hydraulic shocks the pipe system has to be

filled smoothly.
• Position normal operation: The slider fully opens in this position the connection between
pumps and safety system.

• Channel testing: De-energising one trip solenoid (or putting one isolating valve into test
position) the slider moves to ist tests test position indicated by two position sensors.
Energising the solenoid valve (resp. when the isolating valve is turned back in ist operation
position) the slider moves back into ist operation position. Channel testing is succesfull when
both sensors indicate operation position again.
In order to gain an easy draining of the TBVS90A it is mounted horizontally on the tank.

7 Available options
7.1 Magnetventile
• Standard = Wandfluh solenoid valve
• Option = Bosch-Rexroth solenoid valve
7.2 Connection to mechanical overspeed device
TBVS90A allows to connect a mechanical overspeed device.

8 Unavailable options
• TBVS90A is designed for an operation pressure of 40 bar.
• Smaller pressure levels (≥ 35, ≥ 25, ≥ 16, ≥ 7 and ≥ 5 bar) shall be prepared later.
