are the four kinds of Imperative, interrogative, exclamatory and
sentences, again? declarative.

Okay , very good. That`s

correct. Did you understand
there`s differences class and
how they are being used in the
sentence? Yes teacher! Interrogative sentence is a kind
of sentence that asks questions. Declarative
sentence, declares something teacher.
Imperative, it a kind of sentence that states a
Okay very well said class! command or a request it uses, please and
Now let`s proceed with our kindly. And exclamatory sentence it
topic for today. We have here expresses a strong feeling or emotion.
the tenses of the verb. Now as
we know that verbs have
different tenses. We have
simple, past and future tense.

B. Motivation

But before we continue with our topic class

let`s have a warm up first.

Please stand up and count 1-5 . We will play a

telephone relay.Alright class, here it goes:
You`re going to choose a leader or someone
that would serve as your representative in each
group. You`re representative will line at the
back since hell be the one to act the word that
would be relied to him. The first person in the
line will be the one to get the piece of paper
from my hands and he will be the one to rely
the message to the person next to him until it
reaches to the last person who`s going to act
the message or the word. The message must
sent clearly and it won`t be heard by the other
group. Just relay the message to your group
members only. The first group to act in front will
be the winner. Understand? Yes teacher!
The class will do the game.

Did you enjoy the activity class?

Yes teacher

C.Presentation

Now let`s proceed to our new topic, the tenses

of the verb, let`s discuss about simple, past
and future tenses of the verb.

Let`s begin with Simple present ,

The present tense uses the verb's base form

(write, work), or, for third-person singular
subjects, the base form plus an -s ending (he
writes, she works). Thepresent tense indicates
that an action is present, now, relative to the
speaker or writer.
For example we have:
1. Sheila dances the chacha.

As you observed here, Sheila in

present dances the cha cha. She
knows how to dance the cha cha.

2. Jen sleeps early at night. Basically

here class, Jen`s practice or habit is
sleeping early. Understand class?

3. Filipinos celebrates New year`s day on

January 1.
4. Americans are English speaking
people.

5. She relaxes when she is tired from

school.
Class one thing you should remember about
simple present tense is that, it talks about an
Action that happens in the present.
Or actions that happens regularly. Take note of
that class.

Simple past
Now let`s go to the simple past tense, simple
past class talks about actions that happens in
the past. The simple past tense, sometimes
called the preterit, is used to talk about
a completed action in a time before now. The
simple past is the basic form of past tense in
English. The time of the action can be in the
recent past or the distant past and action
duration is not important.

For example class we have:

1. Andrew informed me about the
meeting you had yesterday.

2. Miles was hit by a car yesterday.

3. My dad got his salary last Monday.

4. My friends were my brothers when I

was in High School.

5. She cooked a delicious cake last week.

As you observed here class, it talks about the

past action, and it ends with ed. The action is
done at the specific time in the past.
Understand it class?
Yes teacher!
Any further questions class about the simple
present and simple past tenses of the verbs
class? None so far teacher!

Any clarifications? Additional informations if

you if you have class, please share it to the
class.
There`s none teacher!
Appendix 6. Lesson Plan in English day 1-(experimental group)

Aright so now, let`s have thesimplefuture

tense. A tense that states a future events.
For instance we have ,
1. We will visit my grandmother`s house
soon.

In this sentence class as you notice, there`s a

word will here, which states an action that will
happen soon.

2. We have a nice house soon.

3. I will go to Korea one day.

4. I will finish my schooling someday.

5. I will be an engineer one day.

Just take note of this class; in the future tense

the actions are not happening, they are about
to happen in the future time.
Future tense indicates the use of will in the
sentence. Did you get it?
Yes teacher!

Always remember that the simple present

talks about action that presently happening or
it happens regularly. The simple past talks
about an action that happens in the past time.
And the future, talks about action that will still
about to happen in the future time. Is that
understood? It talks about the actions that will
be happening in the future but there`s no
definite time when it will really be happening in
the future.

D. Supporting Activity( Shoebox

Autobiography)

Now class, you will be going to write an

autobiography in your paper.
Group yourselves into five.
So, now I have a box here in front. You`re
going to pick a word inside the box and write
something about. For instance you pick a
word like, handkerchief. You`re going to write
what is in the handkerchief that would reflect
into your personal everyday experience.
Appendix 6. Lesson Plan in English day 1-experimental group (continued)

For example you`d say, in our group we`re like

a handkerchief because we can clean the
hearts of our classmates who are suffering with
too much pain and is broken hearted. For
instance you`d say that, class. Or you would
say, We`re like a handkerchief because we can
wipe out tears.
Make sure that the three tenses of the verb in
are present in your paper.

I will give you thirty (30) minutes to finish your

work. Students will share their ideas and start writing.

E. Evaluation

Alright class, can you take a look at the

following examples below and try to think which
one is the correct answer.
1. Sheila (is, was) my best friend in High
School.
2. I (went, will) to the market yesterday.
3. She (was, will) the emcee of the event
a year ago.
