ENGINE FUEL AND CONTROL -- NEW FADEC WITH SOFTWARE


VERSION C10 FOR THE AE 3007C ENGINE
1. PLANNING INFORMATION

A. Effectivity
(1) Engines
All AE 3007C engines.
(2) Spares
This service bulletin can be applicable to FADECs with hardware P/N 23074372 or
23085791.
NOTE: The FADEC hardware P/N is located on the small label on top of the FADEC
(Ref. FIG. 1).
B. Reason
This service bulletin introduces new FADEC hardware and software assemblies (23092710 and
23092707) that incorporate FADEC software version C10 (23092687).
FADEC software version C10 is an incremental change from the FADEC software version C9.2
used on the AE 3007C engine.
FADEC software version C10 upgrade incorporates changes that correct production and field
issues related to the current FADEC software configuration as well as an on--wing life
improvement. The primary changes include:
(1) Incorporation of Shaft Break Logic.
(2) Incorporation of NDOT Starting Logic.
(3) MN Reasonable Data Limit Improvement.
(4) TLA Fault Accommodation Logic Improvements.
(5) T2.5 to ADC Difference Check Logic Improvements.
(6) ITT Software Trim and CVG Schedule Change to Increase Max Con Margin.
(7) Annunciation of Inflight POWINT to Maintenance Computer.

C. Description
This service bulletin gives you the procedure to reprogram the FADEC hardware and software
assembly (FADEC assembly) (FADECs with hardware P/N 23074372 or 23085791) to FADEC
assembly (23092710 or 23092707) and change the FADEC identification labels.
A Rolls--Royce Controls and Data Services (CDS) authorized representative will reprogram and
reidentify the FADEC assemblies.
This service bulletin transmits CDS service bulletins AFFU100--73--7831 and
AFFU101--73--7831.

Technical aspects are FAA approved.

On Wing Approximately 3.0 man--hours are necessary to remove, reprogram,
reidentify, and install the two FADECs for each engine (approximately
6.0 man--hours for each aircraft).
FADEC Spares Approximately 1.0 man--hour is necessary to reprogram and reidentify
the FADEC.

F. Compliance
This service bulletin is recommended. You can do this service bulletin at the next convenient
maintenance opportunity after this FADEC software version is available.

Customers can contact Cessna or Rolls--Royce for the current price of this service bulletin and
to coordinate the reprogramming of the FADEC.

2. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. Reprogram the FADEC assemblies.

(1) Remove electrical power from the FADEC assemblies (Ref. Cessna Model 750, AMM).
(2) Remove the four FADECs from the aircraft (Ref. TASK 73--25--10--000--801, MM).
(a) If the FADEC has diode adapter (86632307) attached to the J4 connector, then
disconnect the electrical connector from the diode adapter. Do not remove the
anti--tamper label and the diode adapter from the J4 connector.
(3) Reprogram and reidentify the FADEC assemblies by the CDS authorized service
technician in accordance with CDS Service Bulletin (SB) AFFU100--73--7831 or
AFFU101--73--7831 (attached).
(4) When CDS authorized service technician reidentifies the FADEC, do the steps that follow:
(a) Make sure that the small FADEC Modification Label on the top of the FADEC shows
the information that follows (Ref. TABLE 1) (Ref. FIG. 1):

FADEC connectors shows the information that follows (Ref. TABLE 3) (Ref. FIG.1):

NOTE: The attached CDS SB is for use by CDS authorized service technicians or other
authorized personnel.
(5) Install the four FADEC assemblies (Ref. TASK 73--25--10--400--801, MM). To make sure
that the correct ITT trim plug is installed on the engine, use AE 3007C Maintenance
Manual Revision 56 or later.
(a) If necessary, connect the diode adapter to the J4 connector (Ref. TASK
70--00--00--910--804, MM) and put the anti--tamper label on the FADEC and the diode
adapter (Ref. AE 3007C--73--046, SB).
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE AIRCRAFT UNLESS ALL FOUR OF THE FADECS
HAVE THE SAME SOFTWARE VERSION INSTALLED. INCORRECT ENGINE
OPERATION CAN RESULT FROM USE OF FADECS WITH TWO DIFFERENT
SOFTWARE VERSIONS.
(6) Supply electrical power to the FADECs (Ref. Cessna Model 750, AMM).
(7) Put the avionics power switch to the ON position (Ref. Cessna Model 750, AMM).
(8) Cycle all of the FADEC circuit breakers (breakers) when you open and close the breakers
three times.
(9) Examine the EICAS display for the messages listed below:
(a) FADEC BUS FAIL L/R -- A/B
(b) FADEC FAIL L/R -- A/B
(c) FADEC FAULT L/R -- A/B
(d) FADEC REV ADC -- L/R
(e) FADEC REV N1 L/R
(10) If one or more of the above messages are displayed on the EICAS, then do the appropriate
fault isolation task for the message displayed (Ref. Introduction, FIM).
CAUTION: THE ENGINES CANNOT BE OPERATED WITH ONE OR MORE OF THE
DISPLAYED EICAS MESSAGES LISTED ABOVE. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE
CAN RESULT.
(11) Do the engine operational check with FADEC channel A selected in control for both
engines (Ref. TASK 72--00--00--700--801, MM).
NOTE: Do not remove electrical power from the avionics bus.
CAUTION: IF ONE OR MORE OF THE MESSAGES LISTED BELOW ARE DISPLAYED ON
THE EICAS, THEN STOP THE ENGINE. DAMAGE TO THE ENGINE CAN
RESULT.

(12) Examine the EICAS display for the messages listed below:
(a) ENG TLA FAILED L/R
(b) FADEC BUS FAIL L/R -- A/B
(c) FADEC FAIL L/R -- A/B
(d) FADEC FAULT L/R -- A/B
(e) FADEC REV ADC -- L/R
(f) FADEC REV N1 L/R
(13) If none of the messages in step 2.A.(12) are displayed, then go to step 2.A.(14).
If one or more of the messages listed in step 2.A.(12) are displayed on the EICAS, the do
the steps that follow:
(a) Stop the engine (Ref. TASK 72--00--00--700--801, MM).
(b) Do the appropriate fault isolation task for the message displayed (Ref. FIM).
(c) Do steps 2.A.(11) thru 2.A.(13) again.
(14) Use the right--hand multi--function display (MFD) to access the engine maintenance
messages in the aircraft maintenance test (AMT) for all four FADECs (Ref. Introduction,
FIM).
(15) If one or more engine--related maintenance messages are shown on the MFD, then do the
appropriate fault isolation task for the message displayed (Ref. FIM).
(16) Do steps 2.A.(11) thru 2.A.(13) again with FADEC channel B selected in control for both
engines.
B. Record compliance with this service bulletin.
(1) Remove the FADEC cards from Section 1, Part VII of the engine records. Discard the
Engine Equipment Record cards. This record card will no longer be issued for the FADEC.
(2) Record the part number and serial number of each installed FADEC in Section 1, Part II of
the engine records.
(3) Record compliance with this service bulletin in Section 1, Part III of the engine records.
